⚽️ Welcome Milly to

Great to have Burton Albion and Tamworth player Milly in for her first 1:1 session. She brought great energy to a fast-paced session, and we spoke about key areas of her game she’s looking to sharpen. 💪

Taking time to discuss and evaluate her performance is such an important part of player growth, understanding where you are right now gives clarity on where to go next. Every session is a chance to build self-awareness, refine decision-making, and develop confidence in key moments of the game.

Strong start from Milly, excited to see her progress over the next phase 🔥

🚀 18 Months of AJS Performance 🚀

Today marks 18 months since I launched AJS Performance, and what a journey it’s been, full of highs, lows, and everything in between.

Working 1-to-1 with football players, from those just starting their journey to experienced youth and adult players, has been a privilege. This venture gave me the platform to pursue a career in sport, something I’ve always been passionate about, and it’s opened incredible doors within the sporting world for me.

Through AJS Performance, I’ve built lasting relationships with players, parents, and local clubs, and I’ve been proud to see my profile grow as a trusted provider of training and coach education in the area and build a healthy social media following sharing insights to training with AJS.

Alongside AJS, I’ve also stepped into new roles working as a Sports Coach Educator, helping coaches work toward their Level 4 qualification, and more recently, as Director of Football for Lutterworth Athletic, where I’m focused on supporting the club both on and off the pitch.
Of course, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. Last winter’s extreme rainfall damaged my training facility, forcing a temporary pause in operations and a challenging period of refunds and rebuilds. But through that adversity came growth, resilience, and perspective and I wouldn’t change that experience for the world.

Tonight me and Rich took our U11s side where the focus for the next couple of weeks will be our shape in and out of possession ⚽️

It was great to sit down with the lads and really discuss the importance of both phases, helping them understand their roles when attacking and defending, and starting to introduce some tactical elements and understanding to their game.

It was also a great opportunity for the lads to ask questions, share their thoughts, and be part of the discussion.. something we really value as an all-inclusive football team 🤝

At 9v9 now, I believe it’s important to begin adding this educational side to their development to help their maturity and footballing IQ as players and thinkers of the game 💭🔥

I’m looking forward to working with my 9v9 side this week.

We’ve spoken a lot about shape and patterns before, but over the next couple of weeks I want to take a more educational approach to these sessions. I plan to sit with the lads at the board to go through our shape in and out of possession, helping them see the bigger picture and understand the roles they play with and without the ball.

This will give them the chance to listen, ask questions, and build their tactical understanding as they continue to develop in the 9v9 format.

was thanked for my work with youth footballers in the community this evening with genuine appreciation and respect by one of the purest souls I have ever encountered.

A reminder that Coaches can easily be overlooked, but the game doesn't happen without them, and I can personally say we put our all Into this sport. ⚽️
