The summer trips competition held on Sunday 14th June was well attended with all 6 rinks full.
Three matches were played and the winning team triumphed in all 3.
The winning team was made up of leading lady Carole Cattle, skip Steve South ably supported by Roger Collins who stepped in at the last minute.

Summer Bowling Competition

Hi everyone, I am organising a summer competition in a round-robin format, with teams playing three matches against each other.
Three matches each of 6 ends this means about 3 hours of bowling and an hour for lunch
The proposed date is Sunday 14th June
• Format: triples, with three matches of six ends.
• Teams will be decided by a random draw.
• There will be no food provided, as the fish shop is not open on Sundays, unlike for the Hogmanay competition, so please bring a summer picnic.
• I expect the rink fee to be £6, plus £1 towards prize money.
• Please bring cash to pay the entry fee
• Scoring: 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. If teams are level on points, the result will be decided by the total number of bowls scored.
• The list for name is on the notice board in the club or contact me for more details
• Start time 10.30

Update on Winter Competitions - we have the opportunity to play against other local clubs on a Sunday afternoon.
The first one will be against Church Gresley, details on the notice board.

**Sorry but this event has been cancelled due to lack of interest**

The bowling club is hosting a social evening run by Tamworth Soroptimists as per poster below.
If you are interested in attending please contact the number on the poster or Barbara at the club on 01827 51702.
Barbara will accept prepayment by cash or by bank transfer as per details on poster.
We are looking for about 40 people who will want to dance.
Others are welcome to come along and have a social evening, listen to the music and enjoy a quiz.

On 16th April the club held a Men's club captains team against Ladies club captains team.
The men were triumphant and received the new trophy.
Carol Cattle was awarded the Woman of the match prize for her final bowl which took her team from a draw to a win. Well done Carol.
Everyone enjoyed the afternoon and we hope to hold other friendly events during the summer.

The Jack and Ruby competition was played on Wednesday 18th March.
This competition, which has been going since 2010 was a draw between two teams.
“Triple Threat” with skip Roger Smith ably supported by Diane South and Tony Wilkinson.
“Three on the Mat” where skip Gary Arnold leading a team made up of Gill Ardin and Graham Walker.
Well done to everyone , it was a good afternoon of bowling.
The trophy was presented by Elaine, the daughter of Jack and Ruby.
