Congratulations to everyone who took part in last night’s grading! 🥋

A huge congratulations to all the judoka who successfully passed their grading, your hard work, dedication, and effort have paid off. Be proud of yourselves, because every step forward in Judo is earned, not given.

To those who didn’t quite get everything this time, don’t be discouraged. Remember, even black belts were once beginners who got thrown… a lot! You know where things went wrong, so take some time to revise, practise, and sharpen those techniques.

When you’re ready, come and speak to one of the coaches and we’ll happily arrange for you to be re-graded on the areas you didn’t pass.

Progress in Judo isn’t about never failing, it’s about getting back up and improving every time.

Most importantly, we’re incredibly proud of every single one of you. The effort, determination, and attitude shown by everyone last night were fantastic.

Thank you all for working so hard, supporting one another, and giving it your best.

Keep training, keep learning, and remember, the only bad throw is the one you didn’t learn from!

A big thank you to Coaches Steve Dyer (AWE) and Tim Byrne (The Judo Company) for their collaboration at AWE Judo Club this evening.

Steve delivered an excellent session, packed with quality instruction and plenty to think about.

Everyone put in a great effort, worked hard, and left a little more knowledgeable (and perhaps a little more tired!) than when they arrived.

A fantastic evening of training.

We must do this again!

Tomorrow night we’re excited to welcome our friends from The Judo Company to join us on the mat for what promises to be a fantastic evening of judo, learning, and laughter.

Judo is at its best when clubs come together. Different faces, different experiences, one shared passion. Whether you’re throwing, being thrown, or just trying to survive the warm-up, every training partner helps make us better.

Tomorrow is all about strengthening friendships, sharing knowledge, and working together. Iron sharpens iron, and judoka sharpen judoka!

So come along, bring your best attitude, and be ready for a great session. Let’s fill the mat, support each other, and show what the judo spirit is all about.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about which club you’re from, it’s about helping each other improve, having a few laughs along the way, and leaving the mat better than when you stepped on it.

See you tomorrow night!
