Back to back cup wins! Another massive win, this week in the Kelvin cup against Pharmasol. Too many goals to run through but an impressive first game of the season for Charlie Cunningham who bagged 6 goals. Goals from Jacob Rolfe and Matt coleman made up the 8. Bailey Goodenough had a fantastic game causing all sorts of problems down the left getting himself a couple assists. Luke Maclean made his way out of goal and got 2 assists himself. We played some really good football for large parts of the game emphasised by the frustration shown by the opposition who ended up with multiple yellows and a red. Big result for the boys very happy with the performance, onto the next round.

Through to the next round! An awful start to our game today with no control over the game whatsoever. A misjudged bounce from the keeper and a free header at a corner saw us 2-0 down at half time. A collective agreement to sort ourselves out at half time and we were ready to go. Straight in and Josh Stokes put a great ball across to Bailey Goodenough who tapped home. We’d started to take the game to the opposition and the pressure told when Adam Hargood’s effort from range was parried by the keeper and a quick goal mouth scramble ensued before Josh put it in the net. The opposition then regained the lead making it 3-2. Charlie Neville then split the defence with a fantastic pass through to Bailey who made no mistake and brought us back level. Another through ball found Ellis Theodore one on one with the keeper and he slotted past him comfortably. 4-3 and in the lead for the first time. Sustained pressure and a shaky back pass Ellis nicked the ball off the keeper and set Bailey up for his hat trick 5-3 and playing well. The game was finally put to bed by Adam Hargood with a weaving run in the box before slotting home. Massive result and turnaround from the lads today, onto the next round.

Knocked out of the Hampshire cup. A disappointing defeat. The lads played really well in the first half but the first big chance fell to the opposition forcing Jake into a great save. We then won a penalty that was saved, had a good goal disallowed and then hit the post. Just before half time the hosts scored. Be lying if we said we didn’t feel hard done by at half time. Second half fatigue set in and we unravelled a bit creating a lot of our own problems found ourselves 3-0 down before Ellis found the back of the net with a great header, took the ref a while to decide it was a goal after some confusion with the Lino. Conceded a 4th whilst trying to push for a second goal ourselves. Good luck to .burton in the next round.
