[email protected] Tadcaster Magnet CC was formed in 1999 by the amalgamation of the town's two previous clubs, Tadcaster Cricket Club and Magnet Cricket Club. Tadcaster CC had been in existence for over 100 years winning the York & District Senior League Championship 8 times between 1933 and 1967. Magnet CC had also been in the top flight in th

e 1960s but since then both clubs had seen a steady decline in standards and player numbers. The purpose of the amalgamation was to arrest a declining standard of cricket in the town by focussing local resources on one club instead of two. After several seasons the amalgamation has proved to be very successful and TMCC is on course to be the leading club in the area.
