Our ‘Meet The Teams’ feature returns once again, this time featuring The U7 Hawks.

The Hawks who are going into their first season are making huge strides in their grassroots journey, coached by Millie Hutchinson the future looks bright.

🔵 How long have you been at the club?

I joined the end of April 2026 so what’s that about 4 months?

🔵 Favourite football team?

Riverside 💙 Second Favourite I fear If I say anything other than Manchester United I won’t be allowed back into my house 😂

🔵 Proudest moment at Riverside so far?

Seeing the friendships the boys have formed and how much their confidence has grown, it’s starting to feel like a little family now!

🔵 Who’s your Captain/Vice Captain?

I change it up every week, I think it’s nice at this age that they all get a chance, based on attitudes shown at training 😁

🔵 Favourite player growing up?

I used to really like Ashley Cole until he cheated on Cheryl…allegedly 😂

🔵 Favourite Riverside kit home or away?

Home ( We don’t have an away kit, if anyone fancies sponsoring us for one..hit us up👀😂) 💙❤️

🔵 What do you enjoy most about being a coach?

I enjoy watching the boys develop, seeing their confidence grow, the cheering on for each other. I genuinely feel honoured to be part of the start of there football journey.

🔵 Aims/goals for the team?

Goal for the team, is to keep football a positive and safe environment for them.
To see them all thrive, win some matches but most of all its just to keep the boys loving football.

🔵 What position did you play as a child?

Always been a defender and I currently still play as left back.. and no that’s not left back on the bench before anyone says it 😂

We currently only train Saturdays but once the season starts we will be introducing Thursdays too! 🙌🏻

In the lead up to the summer break the club held its annual tradition of the Coaches v Parents match 💪

We could write a book on this years ‘event’ but in what some would call a close game…(parents battered the coaches) it was a huge success and a fun afternoon out which had over 40 players take part.

Score and bragging rights to one side the biggest achievement was raising over £300 for the Charity Rainbows 💙

Well done to everyone involved and see you all next year for the rematch 👀 🏆

Our club is all about supporting one of its own!! And we’re immensely proud to have helped Cole at the start of his journey.

Cole has made a massive impact since joining our club and even more so as a committee member and now as a goalkeeper coach.

I want to take a moment to extend a massive, heartfelt thank you to everyone at Riverside United Junior Football Club

For the entirety of last season, the club incredibly covered the full costs for my Wednesday and Friday Goalkeeping sessions. Their amazing generosity will always be remembered and was absolutely instrumental in getting these sessions off the ground and running successfully.
Without their backing, none of this would have been possible. I am incredibly grateful for the support they’ve shown me and the young keepers.

We’re delighted to have been recognised by Leicestershire & Rutland County FA as this month’s LRCFA Women’s & Girls Sessional Provider Winner for our Wildcats sessions.

This recognition comes as a result of our commitment to using the Book Football platform, particularly in supporting and promoting our women’s and girls’ football provision. We’re incredibly proud to be playing our part in creating more opportunities for girls to get involved in the game.

A huge thank you to Leicestershire & Rutland County FA for this recognition. As a volunteer-run grassroots club, we’re always looking for ways to make football more accessible and provide the very best experience for our players, parents and coaches.

This award is a reflection of the dedication and hard work of our volunteers, coaches and committee, who continue to go above and beyond for our football club

Thank you once again—we’re proud to receive this award and look forward to continuing to grow the women’s and girls’ game, as well as grassroots football across our community. 💙⚽

LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 🏆

Our u11 Seahawks who are lead by Greg Findon with assistants Si Bates and Adam King have achieved their first league title and are now able to call themselves league champions 🙌

Captained by Ludo the team came up against some very strong opposition making it a tight finale going into the final games. Player of the match performances from Spencer Ollie Ludo Dara and George in the final five games along with the rest of the team pushed them over the line. 💪

Lifting the trophy at Holmes Park is something they will remember for years to come 🏆

This weekend we’re hosting our annual Riverside Summer Festival of Football. During which we will be remembering Hayden and helping to raise much needed funds for Hayden’s family.

A minutes applause is being held by all participants and spectators beforehand to mark a celebration of his life and show how much Hayden meant to us all at Riverside. ❤️💙
