Another nice trip to whet the appetite….

Brief Itinerary
August 2025
10th Sunday: St Jean Pied de Port to start your camping adventure. We have time to explore this medieval town which is the start of Santiago Compostela way. The campsite is in the centre of the town, surrounded by excellent restaurants and shops.
[You may decide to drive through France, using the tunnel or ferry, this can be done in 2 days, for you to arrive Sunday afternoon]
11th Monday: we fuel up at the supermarket and pick up supplies before heading on to the trails and over the Pyrenees mountains to Lumbier at the foot of the Spanish side of the Pyrenees.
12th Tuesday: Leave Lumbier and head to the Bardenas Reales desert region, one of the places used when filming many spaghetti westerns. Camping on the edge of the desert.
13th Wednesday: On the road heading into the central region of Spain, traveling stunning gorges before arriving at out campsite for the night at Trasobares an excellent campsite restaurant and lovely village to wander around.
14th Thursday: On the road, and into some fantastic scenery, could almost believe you are in Arizona USA, before arriving camping Lago for the night, it is a large campsite on different levels looking over a lake, it also has a bar / restaurant.
15th Friday: Fuel up and buy provisions for the day and head on into central Spain where the backdrop is changing all the time, tonight we should be camping in a forest, and listening for the wolves howling in the night, and stags rutting.
16th Saturday: Today we travel higher and higher into the mountains, pass’s monasteries built into the side of canyons and across wild up plains, to reach our next campsite next to a Castle.
17th Sunday: Today we are back into the forests high up and the views are amazing with wild boar about, and deer abound, we finish the day at Kiko Park camping, and excellent site.
18th Monday: Today, is mainly tarmac, as we move from one region to another, before going back into the mountains again, tonight we are camping at Riopar camping in the Sierra del Mundo range, The day takes up on to high plateaus with refuges for the shepherds in winter, this day has some of the best views of the day,
19th Tuesday: Breakfast at the local café’ don’t be surprised if the local police are drinking beer with their breakfast!
20th Wednesday: Today is the climax to the adventure as we head into Gorafe desert and the village of Gorafe with cave houses, it is truly spectacular! The whole day is twists and turns, stunning wite washed villages, some river crossings, and a few technical bits as will be for clearing the desert and camping just outside Granada for our final evening together.
21st Thursday: Travel from Granada to 8hrs 500 miles Bilbao to Portsmouth sail at 16.30PM, on motorways with tolls. It will be an early start unless you’re driving back to the UK.

This will be a very warm time of year!
Please remember this is a driving holiday, the itinerary is not cast in stone and can change.
Vehicles; Suitable for vehicles such as Discovery 2/3/4/5, Defender, Range Rover, Sh**un, Land Cruiser, Jeep Wrangler, 4x4 double cab pickup’s
Tyres: All-Terrain such as BFG KO2’s no low-profile tyres allowed, 5 full size wheels and tyres only, no space savers!
You need, good camping gear tent/cooking/table/chairs/fridge.
All season clothing needed; it will be hot.
We provide, guide vehicle with support equipment, first aid, recovery equipment, diagnostic, and tools, air jack, 2-way radios for comms, an experienced guide / first aider/ Fridge / Cooker/ Kettle/ table/ mechanical knowledge & diagnostics.
