Match Day 13

Last week saw an 8 wicket loss to Knottingley Town Cricket Club 2nd XI. After losing the toss we were put into bat and managed 113 runs in 29 overs.

Knottingley came out strong in their innings and completed the run chase with a loss of only 2 wickets.

Our player of the match went to Jake Bellwood who had a great innings, scoring 53 off of 45 balls with ten 4’s and a 6. He completed his match by taking 1 of only 2 wickets with the ball. An all round solid performance 💪🏻

This week sees us welcome Ryhill & Havercroft Cricket Club to the village hall who are flying high in the league up in 2nd place. We have a strong team ready for tomorrow and are hoping for a competitive game on home turf 🤝

The forecast is looking great again, so please come down and show us your support! The bar is open from 3pm 🍻

Match Day 12

After 3 games without a win and now at the midway point through the season, we play Knottingley Town Cricket Club 2nd XI on the reverse fixture away at their ground.

In an up and down season so far, we have seen some strong performances mixed with some unexpected results and a little bit of bad luck with the weather too.

We are hoping for a strong performance today and can hopefully see us kick on for the rest of the season to get climbing up th Pontefract District Cricket League-Updated Division 2 table.

Match Day 9

The weather gods worked in our favour last week as the rain unexpectedly held off and we managed to complete a good game of cricket against Calder Grove Cricket Club

Sykehouse were put into bat and saw out the full 40 overs posting 170 runs. The opposition were bowled for 134 in 35 overs securing a 36 run victory and a maximum 16pts.

Phil Townsend had another dominant display with the bat opening with a score of 89 and then taking 4 wickets for only 15 runs, what a performance. 🐐

Henry hart had a great return to the team, taking 3 wickets in 4 overs and 3 catches on his first game of the season.

Player of the match was split between both Henry and Joe Hart as both players were great in the field.

This weeks fixture sees us away at Hemsworth Miners Welfare CC where we will be looking to secure maximum points again to move up through the midfield of the league.

Match Day 8

Last week saw a 118 run loss to Notton Cricket Club after a blistering performance with the bat from them, scoring 298/6 in 40 overs.

A valiant effort from the team saw a score of 180/9 seeing out our 40 overs but ultimately could not catch the high score set by the opposition.

Our player of the match went to Matthew Sculthorpe who top scored with 47 and took 2 wickets bowling the full allocation of 10 overs. All this on his first game of the season, well done Matty! 👏🏼

This week sees us play at home to Calder Grove Cricket Club 2nd XI and should be a good game if the rain holds off 🙏🏻
