WEEKEND WARRIORS
So many amazing people from club and 1-to-1’s were doing amazing things this weekend, that we ran out of day to tell you about them yesterday.

This weekend saw Rachael Hanrahan and Jennie Harwood , along with friends of SWS Rachel and Jo, head to their annual pilgrimage to swim the longest lake in wales, Lake Bala.

This is a stunning swim on the right day, and a very testing swim on the wrong day. Looks like the weather gods were being nice this weekend.

MORE REGIONAL WEEKEND WARRIORS……………

Well done to Flavia today for taking 5th place in her AG 2km. Flavia had a great swim and only just missed out on national qualification in an area with some very strong swimmers.

Francesca swam her first open water event today, after seeing us yesterday for some tips and tricks (and a lake sign off). Well done for a fantastic 3rd place in the 1km event.

Shout out to all the youth swimmers we have seen from local clubs before the event, some of you now going onward to National Open Water Championships. Good luck!

WANT MORE WEEKEND WARRIORS?

We’re off to the gower peninsula now where Mat Griffiths was in action in the Gritty Rascals Full SwimRun event. 26 miles of action saw Mat take a magnificent bronze medal in the solo.
Huge well done Mat.

Also, 1-to-1 swimmer Rich Martin took on his first ever SwimRun event here too, challenging himself with the ‘Gritty’ at 20.7km. He’s now got the SwimRun bug to take on more. Huge respect Rich!

At the Oxford Sprint Triathlon Zoe Lily was in action, taking a fantastic 1st AG placing and 3rd Lady overall.

Yet another great result as she approaches a little mid season break.

ANOTHER REGIONAL CHAMPION & REGIONAL SILVER

Even more AMAZING news from Swim England - South West Open Water Championships at Cotswold Water Park Hire.

In the 2km event Johanna Smith takes a fantastic first place to become SW Regional AG Champion, whilst Jackie Blastland followed in shortly behind to take a well deserved silver.

If it were not for a (very) strange age group banding decision by the region, Jackie would have taken her AG’s lead position.

Great swimming by both ladies, who have put an awful lot of effort into getting back into race form after being out of the water earlier in the year.

Super proud of you both.
