So here we go.....
Its time for the last match of the season.
We face an away game against Wroughton Youth Football Club Men's on Saturday.
Will be a 2.30 KO at the Weir Field in Wroughton.
Come support the lads one last time.
Would always suggest parking at the Ellundene carpark as there are not many spaces by the pitch.

So last night's game finished with a 3-3 draw.
From going into half time 3-1 up, we couldn't quite hold on. An 85th minute penalty losing us 2 points.
But in all honesty, we rode our luck a lot.
So we will take the point.
Started off with a goal from Mason (assisted by Rhys B) with some lovely link up play. Then Lower Stratton got one back with a freekick just inside our half by their keeper dropped right on our keeper, had it held then it slipped and it was poked past. Couple of minutes later, we was back in the lead. This time Corey scoring (assisted by Mason) again with some lovely work between players. Then a couple of minutes before half time, more pressure on the opposition box and Will stole the ball outside the box, shifted from his right to his left, and then smashed the ball in. Great individual goal.
2nd half started scrappy and we couldnt find any sort of real rhythm.
Lower Stratton got the goal to half the deficit on 68mins.
Then we was needing to really soak up pressure towards the end as they threw everything at us.
On 85 mins, a challenge resulted in a foul. Was it in the box or out, it was hard to see with the dying light, but a penalty was given and dispatched.
Both teams trying to fashion one last chance, but it wasnt too be.
Great game though.

Players all voted after the game for their MOTM, and the award has gone to Mason. A goal and an assist will do that. But its just the tip of the iceberg. Mason has been consistently good in recent games and has really adapted to a change in position. So great effort and well done.

Thoughts now move to saturday when we finish our league campaign away in Wroughton.

Cracking game today against Cricklade Town FC Devs.
Fast start from us and a brilliant 1st half performance. We adjusted our game to counter for the strong winds.
1st goal coming from Corey. And then he assisted the 2nd goal for Josh C. Josh C also nearly got us a 3rd. A lovely freekick from Dylan and it seemed like Josh was hanging in the air for hours, but just put the header over the bar.
2nd half was a battle and a grind. Now having to play against the wind, our opponents had the upper hand. We had to work hard as a unit to keep ourselves in the game.
The wind helped the ball carry over our defence and it was 1on1 with the keeper from there. 2nd goal for our opponents, well that felt like Maradona was back. Big handball shouts, but the ref wasnt positioned to see it.
Thought Corey had got us the winner, but a huge goal line clearance kept it out.
And then Rhys put his life on the line. Huge clearance at the post to stop a goal resulted in a head on post collision. Checks was done to make sure he was ok (appreciate the opposition medic running over too).
In a game where a majority of our players was playing out of position (needed some creative thinking for the tactics), this result only came because of hard work as a unit.

The players voted after the match for their MOTM. And the clear winner was Rhys. Asked to do a shift at CB, and boy was it a shift. Solid all game. Think he may have played himself into a position change moving forward.

Yesterday saw us bow out of the cup.
Was a brilliant day for a game with the sun beaming down.
Immensely proud of the lads. Its not been an easy season, but you leave it all out on the grass.

Massive thanks to all that came and supported, we think that is brilliant numbers to have at a game at this level. So thanks a lot for the support.

And was lovely to wake up this morning to a heartwarming reply on our Insta from the opponents.
Really good bunch of lads.
Hoping they go on to win the final and get the promotion they deserve in the league.
