🥷 NALGO WARRIORS’ FIRST TOURNAMENT! 🥷⚽️💚💜

Yesterday marked a pretty special milestone for the Nalgo Warriors as we took part in our first ever tournament! 🏆

Being only a few months old, we knew we were going to come up against some seriously strong opposition, including teams who have been playing together for multiple seasons. But if anyone thought the Warriors were going to roll over and make up the numbers, they clearly hadn’t met this lot! 😂🥷

The boys played some amazing football, battled for every ball and, most importantly, fought right until that very last whistle. There were moments of brilliant football, moments of pure determination and probably a few moments where the coaches’ heart rates didn’t need any assistance! 😅

And we found the back of the net too! ⚽️

🔥 Archie bagged TWO lovely goals, taking on the defender and finding a way through to put the ball in the back of the net.

🚀 Tyler produced one of his trademark long-range efforts, with the ball bouncing perfectly over the keeper.

🎯 And then there was goal of the tournament from Chase finishing off a fine team move with his weak foot from a Rudy cross! Not just for standing on 😏

And then came the Harry Parker Player of the Match award… 🏆

McKinley! 👏🔥

What a performance.

He was ALL over the pitch yesterday. Chasing, battling, getting involved and refusing to give up. Every time it looked like the game was asking for another ounce of effort, McKinley seemed to find it from somewhere.

A thoroughly deserved Player of the Match and a brilliant way to recognise the effort he put in. 💚💜

So, Warriors… first tournament = DONE.

There is plenty still to learn, plenty still to improve and plenty more football to come, but yesterday gave us something even more important…

A team that fights until the end.

And that is something every single Warrior can be proud of. 💚💜⚽️

⚽ U15s Match Report

A tough game for the Wolves this Saturday with the final score 5-2 to Summertown Stars FC

There were a few positives to take from the match. After 2 goals from Summertown in the first 20mins, Martha scored her first goal of the season with an absolutely brilliant finish! ⚽🔥 it gave the whole team a fantastic boost 💪

Going into the second half the girls stepped it up showing plenty of determination and fight right until the final whistle.

A special mention goes to Layla, who played her first league game for the team — and scored our second goal, making it a debut to remember. ⚽🙌

And a shout-out to Soph, who stepped in as goalkeeper! 🧤👏 Thank you for taking on the gloves and helping the team out.

The result didn't go our way this time, but there were a few encouraging moments and some performances to build on.

Heads up girls — keep going! 💪⚽💙

What an amazing day at a very special tournament held in memory of Harry Parker 🫶🫶

A huge thank you to Ferndale Rodbourne YCFC for having us. It was an exceptional tournament and a fantastic day of football, fun and memories 🙌

The Nalgo Knights U8s had an absolute blast! Every one of the lads thoroughly enjoyed themselves and put in some really strong performances throughout the day, holding their own against some fantastic teams. 👏⚽

Our Player of the Day award went to Freddie, who was absolutely brilliant in his holding defender/midfielder role.

Freddie was pulling the strings throughout the day, showing great composure, skill and an excellent range of long-distance passing. A fantastic performance and a very worthy recipient of the Harry Parker Award. ❤️👏

A special mention to every single player in the Knights squad. You all worked incredibly hard, supported each other and never gave up, no matter what was happening on the pitch. Kit, Bailey, Ernie, Jacob, Freddie, Ellis & Archie you were all brilliant 👏👏

What a way to start the season! 🔥⚽

The Nalgo U15 Cobras came away from Melksham with a fantastic victory against FOF, putting in a brilliant all-round performance.

The passing was on point from start to finish, and the girls showed just how much they have developed over the summer.

Today we tested ourselves in a 3-5-2 formation, moving away from our usual systems after working hard on it during pre-season. The girls adapted brilliantly, with every player putting in a top-class performance and playing their part in securing the win.

**Match Report**

🐈‍⬛️🐈‍⬛️🐈‍⬛️🐈‍⬛️

This morning the Panthers headed to Derry Hill, to complete their preparations for the upcoming season.

If this performance is anything to go by, this has the potential to be spectacular season for this group of girls. The quality of football played this morning on a tricky pitch was absolutely superb, a joy to watch!
There were also outstanding individual performances, Isobel was solid in goal with great distribution.

Shreya and Lily were aggressive in the tackle and passed the ball out from the back with confidence.

B showed how players with a football brain 🧠 can play in any position and look completely comfortable.

Ava cruised around the midfield, playing some passes that 9 year old really has no business in being able to execute.

Pearl was full of her usual menace and threat off the flanks and got 2 well taken goals.
Maya and Grace were full of running and a real threat upfront and caused the defence real problems.

Ayda just oozed class all game, some exceptional link up play and one of her two goals was wonderful, running from inside her own half and beating 4 players.
Well done to all the girls on a superb team performance.
