Today, September 4th, is international Taekwondo Day. What better way to celebrate than to celebrate EVERYONE in our Martial Arts community.

Sometimes, you don’t need to be in a red and black Do bok, or kicking a pad, sweating in a sparring kit, to be part of that community, sometimes it’s the people behind all the scenes that help make our lives easier in the middle of the Black Belt season chaos.

This is Mr Luciano Carrano.
Many of you may recognise him from DoubleTree by Hilton Swindon. He is the food & beverage operations manager and an amazing asset to his team at the DoubleTree.

We have been working along side him for 10 years plus, Luciano has attended and managed every Black Belt dinner to date.

We can never thank him enough for his ongoing hard work and dedication when it comes to our Black Belt dinners, always going the extra mile to make sure everything goes smoothly and helps make each Black Belt dinner what it is.

Today in recognition, he was awarded an honorary Black Belt by Chief Master John Danby

Thank you Luciano, for always making our Black Belt dinners, ones to remember.

🎒 A NEW SCHOOL YEAR IS A NEW OPPORTUNITY TO GROW. 🥋

The summer holidays are coming to an end, routines are returning and another school year is just around the corner.

But getting ready for September isn’t just about new shoes, uniforms and stationery.

It’s about helping our children walk through those school gates feeling ready, capable and confident.

At Leadership Martial Arts, we believe martial arts gives children more than physical skills. Every class is an opportunity to develop the qualities that help them succeed in school and in life:

🔴 Confidence — believing they can have a go
⚫ Focus — learning to concentrate and listen
🔴 Discipline — doing what’s needed, even when it’s difficult
⚫ Resilience — getting back up after setbacks
🔴 Respect — treating themselves and others positively
⚫ Leadership — making good choices and setting an example

These aren’t skills that disappear when training ends.

They’re skills that can show up in the classroom, in friendships, at home, on the sports field and eventually in the wider world.

🧠 We develop the mind.
⭐ We build future leaders.

So as your child heads back to school this September, ask yourself:

What qualities are you helping them take with them?

Because the most valuable things they carry into a new school year aren’t always the things you can put in a school bag.

We mentioned a couple weeks ago about the importance of bowing in class and were deeply impressed that last night EVERY single student, parent and spectator bowed when coming in and leaving class! 🙌 👏

It is incredibly important for the junior students to understand mutual respect from everyone who comes through the doors to class so a big thank you from us! 🙏 😁
