❌Myth: You can only do exercises like yoga and walking during pregnancy.

✅Truth: The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists recommends mild to moderate intensity exercise, for up to 30 minutes a day, at least 4 days a week, so you can keep doing some of your more energetic activities until your body tells you to slow it down.

💪Depending how energetic you were before your pregnancy, and what you feel comfortable with on the day, you can continue to do cardio exercises including dance, cycling, swimming, and even running.

Well this heat is just getting a bit ridiculous now, isn't it!

Here is your permission, should you need it, to put the paddling pool up, regardless of whether you have children 😅

In the second photo, I was 8 months pregnant and yeah, dam right I put a paddling pool up for myself (let's face it, nobody else would've fit in there with me anyway 😂🤰)

❌Myth: If you didn’t do exercise before pregnancy, you can’t start now.

✅Truth: For most healthy people with an uncomplicated pregnancy, this is a great time to start exercising, even if you haven’t done it in years! Be sure to start small and increase gradually, listening to your body as you go.

💪Any physical activity counts, so why not begin by going for a walk – if you take a friend along you can be sure that you’re sticking to a safe pace as long as you can keep the conversation going.

🤰 if you do have a serious long term condition; or have been told that you have a weakened cervix; or are at risk of premature birth, then please speak to your healthcare provider first.

✅Truth: There is NO evidence to support this.

💪The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, actually advise healthy pregnant people to exercise throughout pregnancy.

🤰If you do have ongoing health conditions, or are worried about your pregnancy, then do consult with your health care provider, but the majority of pregnant people will be able to enjoy a form of physical activity throughout their pregnancy.
