Unlucky today girls

What a proud bunch of coaches we are today. 🥹

The growth of this team the last couple of years is unbelievable. Today we gave the best team in the league a real fright, and on another day things might have gone our way and we might have been talking about a positive scoreline.

From front to back we tried to play the right way, we never backed down from the physical battle and stayed positive the whole game.

Well done to TMA today played really well.

🏆 CUP WIN! 💛🖤

Nalgo Sports FC 1–3 Penhill United

Penhill United booked their place in the next round of the Wilts Cup today with a hard-fought 3–1 victory — but it certainly wasn’t all plain sailing!

At 0–0, Nalgo were awarded a penalty, but standing between them and the opener was Lee Bailey. Bailey produced an incredible one-handed save, getting down quickly to his right as the ball was heading for the corner. A huge moment in the game! 🧤🔥

Just five minutes later, Penhill took the lead with an absolute thunderbolt of a free kick, Scott Chilcot stepped up and watched his strike fly into the top corner. 🚀⚽

Later in the first half, Penhill then found themselves down to 10 men, with Brad Stanners receiving a soft sin bin. But despite being a man down, the boys showed great character and, just before half-time, doubled their advantage with Jamie Macieszonek producing a smart finish from a tight angle. 0–2!

The second half became a scrappy affair, with both sides getting under each other’s skin and tempers beginning to flare. Nalgo pulled one back after some poor defending allowed their striker to find a clever finish across goal. 1–2.

Things then got even tougher for Penhill, with Jesse McGowan and Danny Hiscocks both receiving red cards, leaving Penhill to finish the game with just 9 men.

With 15 minutes remaining, Nalgo pushed hard for an equaliser, but the Penhill defence stood tall. And when Nalgo did manage to get chances, Bailey was in inspired form, keeping everything that came his way out. 🧤💪

Then, late in the game, Jamie Macieszonek put the icing on the cake, grabbing his second of the afternoon to seal a brilliant 3–1 cup victory! ⚽⚽

A proper battling performance from the boys — 9 men, backs against the wall, but Penhill get the job done!

Penhill United head into today’s cup game looking to build on last weekend’s entertaining 3–3 league draw.

💛 MATCH DAY 💛

It’s match day for the girls! ⚽️

After an incredible 16–0 win at home last week, we’re under no illusions that we’ll see another scoreline like that today. It’s a new game, a new challenge and we know TMA Phoenix will be looking to make it a tough one.

But the girls will be hoping to put in another strong performance and, most importantly, come away with the 3 points! 💪💛

💛🖤 Narrow defeat for the Vets 🖤💛

A 1–0 defeat for the Penhill United Vets last night, but there are plenty of positives to take from the second half.

It was a poor first half from us and, after going a goal behind, it could have been 2–0 when the opposition were awarded a penalty. Thankfully, Payner came up big and saved it to keep us in the game. 🧤👏

We were a completely different side after the break. We started to play with more purpose, created chances and as the game went on, we were getting stronger and stronger.

We had enough opportunities to not only equalise but potentially go on and win the game, but unfortunately the ball just wouldn’t go in.

A frustrating result, but the second-half performance showed what this team is capable of.

We go again. We’ll get there. 💛🖤

🤦🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️😢 Not our day 💛🖤💛

Three youth matches today, three losses.

Not the day we wanted, but that’s football. Some days everything clicks, and other days it just doesn’t go your way.

What matters now is how we respond.

To all our youth teams, keep your heads up, keep working, and keep believing. 💛

A bad result doesn’t define a team. The character you show afterwards does.

We’ve got some fantastic players, brilliant coaches and some exciting teams at Penhill United. There will be bumps along the way, but we’re building something, and we’re not going to let one tough day knock us off course.

We go again. We learn. We improve. We come back stronger.

Today's Player of the Match 💪🏻👌🏻⚽⚽⚽🅰️🅰️🅰️

Debut hat-trick of goals and assists for Tina today. A fantastic work rate, plenty of energy and all with a big smile on her face. Caused the defence so many problems whether it was in the centre or on the wing.

A great performance, with lots more to come this season.

💛 What a start for our U18 Women! 💛

What a way to begin life in Penhill colours! 🖤💛⚽️

A huge congratulations to our newly formed Penhill United Women’s U18s, who today played their first competitive game in yellow and came away with a fantastic win! 👏🔥

To see the girls step out in the Penhill shirt for the first time, play with confidence, work for each other and put in the performance they did today was something everyone at the club can be incredibly proud of.

There was some fantastic football on show, plenty of goals, great link-up play and, just as importantly, a real team spirit developing already. 💪

A special mention to all the coaches, parents, families, supporters and sponsors who are helping make this new team possible.

This is only the beginning. 🌟

Football ⚽ is back!!!

A strong start to the season today. Great to see the ☀️ shining down at Sevenfields, girls turned up and then some today. Played some really great football at times. Some new faces integrated really well in the team, we had a new friend called crossbar which we decided to pass to at least 3 times today 😂. Good momentum to start the season, we will continue to build and move forward 💪🏻
