Mother’s Day felt like the perfect moment to pause, reflect and share.

Before I became a muma to my children, I had already felt what it was to nurture something, and I poured my heart into this space right here — Blank Canvas.

Motherhood didn’t take that away.
But it changed the way I carry it.

These days my time, energy and heart are shared between raising my family and continuing to nurture the community and dream that is Blank Canvas.

Some days it feels messy.
Some days it feels magical.
Most days it’s both.

Right now I’m learning how to hold both things so dearly to my heart — the dream I built, and the little humans I’m raising.

This post is also for the incredible women who nurture, guide and support others in ways that shape lives. Motherhood and nurturing come in many forms.

Q U I E T & I N T E N T I O N A L S E A S O N 🌱

Still here & still creating — just a little quieter on social media while I focus on building some beautiful things within Blank Canvas and behind the scenes.

I’m also in a season of life where I’m intentionally creating space and pouring energy into self development, my little family, close friends and other important spaces in life too.

There’s a lot happening beyond the posts — refining structure, developing sessions, strengthening foundations and shaping what’s next for our dancers.

"Growth doesn’t always look loud; sometimes it looks like planning, vision and intention." 💫

Classes are running as normal, the energy in the studio is strong, fun & connected and we’re also still welcoming new students.

It’s been so lovely recently seeing new enquiries come through and new faces attending taster sessions.

So if you’re new around here, just wanted to take the opportunity to say hey! 👋

1-1 Children & Teen Support 🌱

This week is a beautiful reminder that young people don’t just need physical care… they need emotional support, safe spaces and someone who truly listens too.

Alongside dance, I offer gentle 1-to-1 wellbeing sessions for children AND teens who may be experiencing:

✨ Anxiety or overwhelm
✨ Low confidence or big emotions
✨ Friendship, school or family struggles
✨ Changes at home or life transitions
✨ Teenage pressures, identity or emotional challenges
✨ A need for a safe space to talk and feel heard

These sessions are supportive, nurturing and young-person-led — using conversation, creativity, movement, grounding tools and emotional awareness techniques to help them feel more confident, calm and connected.

As someone passionate about young people’s wellbeing (and a parent myself), creating spaces where they feel safe to express themselves is at the heart of everything I do.

If you’ve been thinking about extra support for your child or teenager, Children’s Mental Health Week is a perfect time to start that conversation 💛

This year has been one of the most challenging but best yet, so many beautiful moments to remember with a whole lot of lessons & growth and there is a reel to come to capture as much of this as possible.

But before we see the New Year in, I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has been a part of the journey Blank Canvas took in 2025, I cannot wait to venture in to 2026 with you all.

Happyyy Mondayyy! 🙋‍♀️

Throwing it back to last Thursday’s Youth In Rhythm class, they just keep giving 🤩👏🏼

They put in work with this one. So lovely to see the class building each week & loved welcoming back returning dancers!

Dance really is a forever thing. No matter how much time you may have a break from it, dance is just part of who we are. It’s instinct, emotion, and story all rolled into movement—and it never leaves. ✨🤍🖤

Our Magic Movers bringing their magic and their moves to make us smile! ☺️

The last couple of weeks have been filled with excitement as our Magic Movers settled into our new studio space on a Monday at New College! We've absolutely loved the space — from the big mirrors to the big curtains — and it’s been amazing to see their confidence grow with each class.

Classes have been full of energy, fun, and just the right amount of craziness to say the least 🤪 but that hasn’t stopped us from learning and growing. We even found some hats for our end-of-class performance to parents last week 🎩

I’m so proud of this group! Their focus on Hip Hop foundations has really started to shine through — we now all know the Smurf, Bart Simpson, and The Prep 👏🏼

Only just turnt 8 years old and already bringing the heat! 🔥

From home practice videos to stepping in cyphers and applying everything we’ve worked on — the growth is unreal.

What I love most is how Mabel just throws herself in, doesn’t overthink, and lets the music guide her. 💫

This is what hard work, creativity, dedication and "be the true you" looks like in a round of freestyle.

And them hits at the end of the round are hitting! 👀

So good to have our classes back to full after the summer 🌞 We’ve been taking it back to basics with some fun combos and choreography in all of our styles! Alongside our usual drilling 💪🏼

We’ve welcomed some new faces too 😍 and it’s been amazing to see the dance family growing again.
