John Jenkins

Sunday 14th June marks another very special occasion at Swansea Bowling Club as we come together once again to remember John Jenkins.

Many of our newer members may not have had the chance to know John personally. He passed away in 2012, our centenary year, and his loss was deeply felt across the bowls community. John served Swansea Bowling Club with great dedication as a long-standing and highly respected secretary, and went on to serve as President and Chairman of the City and County of Swansea Bowling Association. He was a well-known and well-regarded figure throughout the wider bowls world.

Beyond the green, John was equally respected in his professional life as a musician and in education. A man who gave much to those around him in so many different ways.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to our ground at Bryn Road on Sunday 14th June, starting at 2.30pm.

We want to say a sincere thank you to all the members who are giving their time to take part and help make this a wonderful occasion once again.

There is still plenty of time to come along and enjoy the Richie Fuller Triples on Fridays at Swansea Bowling Club.

Whether you play regularly, have not played for a while, or just fancy a friendly afternoon outdoors, you will be very welcome. Teams are drawn each week, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the competition is all about enjoying the game and good company.

Please arrive by 1.30pm for a 2.00pm start.

In just one hour, Coaching begins at Swansea Bowling Club!
If you’ve ever thought about trying bowls, improving your game, or just enjoying a friendly social evening, come along and give it a go. Free coaching starts at 4pm with experienced players on hand to help, and we can lend you the equipment too.
Then from 5.15pm it’s Spoons, our relaxed and enjoyable social game open to everyone. Register by 5.15pm for a 5.30pm start.
Fresh air, friendly people, a welcoming atmosphere and the bar open afterwards too. Why not come down and see what it’s all about?
