U10 Bluebells 🩵

Unreal effort from the girls today playing up a year. A tough ask physically but they not only held their own , the football that was on show was something else. Some real warriors in this team they scored their fair share of goals and kept a couple of clean sheets. We are super proud of these girls they do not shy away from anything.

U8 Bluebells 🩵

One win and two hard fought draws today a really promising performance as we head towards the end of the season. The progress is clear, and there’s a bright future ahead for this team!

⭐ Player of the Week ⭐
Liliana a brilliant debut! Tenacious both on and off the ball, with fantastic vision and some superb passing throughout.

🩵🩵🩵🩵

Playing up a year again this week for the Whites, the girls showed great determination across all three games, finishing with a win, a draw, and a loss. The extra challenge was clear at times, with a bit of pace difference, but they never let it stop them keeping their heads up, working hard, and competing brilliantly throughout.

It was fantastic to see their resilience and teamwork pay off, earning some really positive results against strong opposition.

A special mention to Olivia, our Player of the Week, who was tenacious all over the pitch and gave absolutely everything in every game 👏

Well done, girls keep it up! 👏🏻🩵

U11 Bluebells 🩵

A fantastic performance from the girls today and one they should all be really proud of. In Game 1, we came up against a very tough side and although the result did not go our way, the girls showed great determination, battled from start to finish, and stayed competitive throughout. Their attitude and effort never dropped, which was brilliant to see.

In Games 2 and 3, the team really found their rhythm and showed exactly what they are capable of. The girls worked incredibly hard for one another, played with real confidence, attacked with purpose, and were outstanding defensively. It was great to see them put everything together and get the results they fully deserved.

What stood out most today was the teamwork, effort, and attitude across all three games. Every single player contributed, supported each other, and played their part. There was not one player who underperformed today, and that says a lot about the commitment and quality in this team. Very proud of every one of them.🩵

POTW – Millie Winter🏅

Millie worked tirelessly in all three games and fully deserved her Player of the Week award. Her positional awareness was excellent throughout, she read the game really well, and she used the ball intelligently with some solid passing. She gave everything for the team and put in a consistently strong performance from start to finish. Well done, Millie.👏

*MATCH REPORT*
Sunday 29th March

*Rockspur Bluebells v Talycopa U14’s*
Venue *Penlan 3G Cae Pen Tawe*
Weather windy, cold and miserable

Rockspur go into our final league game of the season having already secured the title the week before. We are up against a good Talycopa side who have been pushing us all season in what promises to be great advert for girls football. Although the league has been decided we need to win to preserve our perfect league record of 11 matches and 11 wins but know that Talycopa won’t be here to make up the numbers.

After a tentative start and getting to grips with the adverse weather the deadlock was finally broken on 21 minutes by Sofia Bennett with a great finish, latching onto the ball a full 25yards out and keeping her cool to rifle the ball home. After that goal settled everybody down then the girls started playing some fantastic football, Lacey received the ball from Sofia B and hitting a sweet strike to make it 2.0. On 29 minutes Jess G played in Lacey for her second of the game which was quickly followed by her third on the stroke of half time to complete her hat trick following another assist from Sofia B.

First half ends Rockspur 4 - Taly 0

Little bit of a reshuffle in the second half pays rewards instantly as Lottie Reid lays off Lucie Cole who scores with another superb finish over the keeper. On the 45th minute Lucie picks up her second goal with great work from Jess on the right wing cutting inside and playing a defence splitting ball to Lucie on the opposite wing to finish smartly past the keeper. 47th minute then Jess her just rewards for a great afternoon as she finishes off a great pass from Lottie Reid at the back post to fire home.
Still Talycopa keep pressing us and not allowing us to switch off but Lacey then grabs her fourth of the game with a sweet finish.
In all fairness to Taly they keep moving the ball around and making us work and they get a consolation goal with a really good finish which Sofia O got her hands to but the power was too much to keep it out. And finally Lottie Reid rounded off the scoring late on with a nicely taken finish.

Final score Rockspur 8 - Talycopa 0

We would like to thank our friends at Talycopa for the game which was played in the right spirit throughout and wish them luck with their remaining games.

All in all some fantastic football on display from both sides and the goals were of real quality and straight from the training ground. It is testament to the mindset and determination of the girls to see us get the win when they could have taken their foot off the gas but they saw the game out like CHAMPIONS.

*PLAYER OF THE WEEK* - hardest one yet as all of them put their hands up when it mattered but we have to go with Lottie Reid for seamlessly slotting into midfield the second half and coming away with two assists and one goal

The presentation followed on the pitch at the final whistle with fun and games in the club afterwards.

We also as coaches would like the offer our thanks to the parents and families of the girls for all your support this season. It hasn’t gone unnoticed by us and allows us to work on the girls game with full confidence in what we are trying to do.

JUST A SMALL MATTER OF A CUP FINAL TO DEAL WITH NOW ON MAY 10TH🩵

As a club, we pride ourselves on being a true family club supporting and looking after the families within it 🩵

It’s a pillar that many great clubs have been built on, and as we aim to emulate those before us, it’s something we hold close to our club’s morals and identity.

That’s why we offer a family discount on subs, with a £5 reduction applied each month for additional siblings playing within our junior sides:

1st child £22.50
2nd child £17.50
…and so on.

As pictured, our Ladies Team captain Chloe Davies with her two children, Layla and Parker 🩵

Chloe leads from the front on the pitch, and off it she’s passing that same passion down to the next generation.

Layla and Parker are both part of the Rockies family, with Parker already pulling on the shirt for our U6s Rockspur Boys 👏🏻⚽️

It’s what being a family club is all about creating an environment where players of all ages can grow, develop, and enjoy the game together.

We’re proud to have families like Chloe’s at the heart of our club 🩵

Rockspur Bluebells U11s 🩵

We faced two really tough fixtures this week against very strong opposition. While the results didn’t go our way, the scorelines do not reflect the effort, determination and heart the girls showed in both games. Every single player gave everything for the team, and as coaches we could not be prouder of the attitude they displayed from start to finish.

Across both matches, the girls showed fantastic work ethic, resilience and togetherness. Even when things were difficult, they kept battling, supported one another and never let their heads drop. That kind of spirit says so much about this team and the progress they are making each week. Matches like these are all part of the journey, helping the girls grow in confidence, character and experience, and there were so many positives to take away.

POTW🏅- Eva Williams.

Eva always works tirelessly for the team, but this week she went above and beyond with two outstanding performances. Her energy, commitment and determination were there for everyone to see, as she put in an absolute shift for the team in both games. She worked brilliantly alongside her teammates, helping to create some really good chances, and capped off her efforts with an incredible goal , a real screamer from distance that flew into the top bins. It was a moment of real quality and one she should be very proud of! Well done, Eva

U8 Bluebells 🩵

So proud of the U8 Rockspur Bluebells today! 🩵

Playing up a year group, the girls were outstanding winning two games 3–0 and just narrowly losing the third to an unlucky goal.

They were brilliant all over the pitch, showing great teamwork with some lovely passing, including a few slick one-twos, and real tenacity throughout.

⭐️ A special shoutout to Tia, our Player of the Week, who was immense in defence. She made some perfectly timed tackles that stopped clear goal-scoring chances an incredible effort!💪

Well done girls, you were amazing today 👏

Whites 🙌🏻⚽️

2 losses and 1 draw today.

Not quite at our best against some very strong opposition, but plenty to learn and better days ahead 👊🙌🏻

🌟 Player of the Week: Freya
Pulled off some great saves and her distribution was solid throughout, well done!

What a morning for football , sun was shining and girls all ready to give it their all🩵

Blues

The girls started off strong playing bryncoch some excellent passing and team work resulting in a 2-0 win korneila with a excellent finish aswell as lacie.

The girls went on to play Loughor where they played some brilliant football scoring lots of goals and Amelia with a few excellent saves in goal. Richy, Harper , LaCie and Isabelle with the goals.

They then had a really tough game against E&W where they lost. The girls created plenty of chances but couldn’t get passed the E&W GK.

POTW - Kornelia

Korneila was outstanding today she took her goal really well and worked her socks off a real superb performance from her 🩵

Whites

A real tough set of games for the girls this morning and by god did they work hard!

Started off with a great 3-1 win against a very organised mumbles team Isabelle and Gwyn with goals.

Next up was Loughor in a game full of tension as both teams were right up for the game, in the game we did a lot of defending and the girls were not up for letting them score easily. Maisy in goals probably pulled off the save of the season diving in the top corner to keep the ball out of the net. Gwyn went up the other end and got us the goal with a 1-0 win.

Last game ended up with a 0-0 draw with Bont where we creating lots of chances but could not get the ball in the net.

POTW - Maisy

Unreal performance from Maisy today keeping 2 clean sheets and pulling off a rediculous save to get us a win.

🌟 Rockspur Girls U14s Making History
First Junior Rockpsur Team To Win The League 🌟

🚨 *Match Report* 🚨

22nd March
Pembrey 2-9 Rockspur

Today Rockspur travelled down to play Pembrey at Factory Road for an 11am kick off.
A point or more today would claim the League title for this group of outstanding girls.
There were nerves and hopefully the girls would settle down quickly and move the ball about from the off.

Instructions were clear be positive, direct and play football, work harder than your opposite number.

In all fairness the match started perfectly with Lacey latching onto a through ball from Kadie to put us 1 up after 3mins a great start.
On the 6th minute a lovely through ball by Lottie Reid to Lacey who finished to make it 2.
The football couldn't have been any better popping 1,2's off and getting the ball out wide to Sofia Bennett who cut inside and rifled a shot into the top corner to make it 3-0 fantastic team passing and an excellent finish,Sofia grabbed ger 2nd and Rockspurs 4th on the 17th after great play in the midfield Willow winning the ball back and Kadie providing another assist.
In fairness to Pembrey they pumped 2 long balls over the top of our defence where a quite rapid forward latched onto scoring both times to give them some belief.
Just on the half hour mark Lucie Cole terrorised the Pembrey Left Back before delivering a great cross for Lacey to react the quickest and seal her hat-trick making it 5-2 at the interval.

2nd half we were right back at it the football between Willow,Sofia O,Jess was fantastic splitting the Pembrey tackling apart time and time again.
Sofia O and Lottie R linking up on the left to slide Sofia B through to grab her hat-trick,we went up another few gears in the last 20mins with Sofia B grabbing herself a further 2 goals and Sofia O another.
Full time whistle and let the celebrations commence as this is the first league title to be secured by a Rockspur junior team some lovely history for the girls to cherish.
Few shout outs Sofia O,Lottie T and Lucie helping out in goals its a thankless job and we as coaches appreciate the commitment to the cause.

Goals:
Sofia B ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽
Lacey ⚽⚽⚽
Sofia O ⚽

A massive shoutout to every player in the squad who we have required throughout the season to make this possible, training twice a week and putting serious shifts in every sunday to make sure we performed at our best.
Top Quality.

A final shoutout to our travelling parents/fans who every single week conduct themselves impeccably and are a huge asset to this team and us as coaches thank you.

Player of the day today was Sofia Bennett what a performance from playing on the wing and then up front tough few weeks for this wonderful girl but brushed everything aside today to produce a stellar performance and 5 goals outstanding Sof 🩵

The attitude and application from every player this season has been nothing short of outstanding played 11 won 11 conceding 3 scoring 75 quite an achievement, also a cup final in May its stuff of dreams from when this team formed 6yrs ago extremely proud.

Congratulations Rockspur Girls U14's shout it from the roof tops.

We would like to thank Pembrey for hosting us and wish them all the best for the remainder of the season 👏
