Situated in the upper Swansea Valley overlooking Pontardawe, Pontardawe Golf Club offers a unique location for playing golf. At just over 6101 yards and par 70, the course provides a good challenge for all standards of golfers. The course is situated on a mountain and is semi-parkland. The course has a few gentle inclines, but these are worthwhile as the golfer is treated to panoramic views. To th

e North, are the beautiful Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountain, to the South, the Swansea Valley, Mumbles Head and Swansea Bay. From the tee of the 16th, known locally as the pulpit, these magnificent views are captured. Pontardawe Golf Club prides itself as being a very friendly and sociable club to the visitor.

Aprons freshly cut, stripes laid down and the course is looking rather sharp for the weekend ahead, progressing into Mike Grinter Captain’s Week ⛳️

Jamie and the boys have been out practising their ‘line and length’ again, make of that what you like 👀 However, unlike most golfers, they actually hit every stripe they aim at.

Sometimes, we really do make ourselves laugh 😆

Each 'weekday' event is £3 entry per person and there's fantastic prizes up for grabs. Plus, let's not forget, all monies raised will be going to Mike Grinter's chosen charity - Morgan's Army

PLEASE NOTE:
There will be certain days (especially Monday's Par 3 Challenge & Thursday's Greenkeepers Revenge) where you CANNOT just book a tee time for general play golf. The course will be set up differently in which you MUST follow the day's format.

All bookings must register and pay in the Golf Shop.

For those entering outside of Shop hours please pre-register with Geraint or Iestyn.

The boys were out in full waterproofs today, taking on the wind, rain and everything else the Welsh weather could throw at them to get the course in top shape for the weekend. Hopefully they’ve done enough to convince the golfing gods to send us some sunshine 🤞

As mentioned in the recent club newsletter, work on the new path on the 16th will begin at the end of July. To make sure everything runs as smoothly as a well-read putt, the boys have already started preparing the area by cutting back the verges and bushes that line the path. This work will continue over the coming weeks as they get everything ready for the contractors.

Think of it as our very own version of a catwalk, although the only models you’ll find are a few lost golf balls and the occasional wayward golfer looking for their tee shot, or the bar 🍻
