Eating well is such a subjective term, and the amount of information out there about nutrition is astronomical.
So let me break it down a little bit because, in reality, knowing every tiny little detail about everything you eat isn't actually a must when trying to eat right.
As a disclaimer, I don't eat to lose weight. I love food, so I try to combine healthy eating with good flavours. My primary goal is to fuel my body so I can be both physically and mentally strong. I understand that everyone's goals are different, but the basics are very similar for everyone.
This is my packed lunch for today. It's simple, and I know I will enjoy it.
The wrap is made with chicken breast slices, grated cheese, some pre-packaged salad including lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion and sweetcorn, and little bit of mayo.
Now, I haven't counted the calories or the macros, but I know that this will have a good portion of protein from the chicken and has lots of vitamins from the salad. I've added mayo because it's yummy.
Quark yoghurts taste good, have lots of protein, and are actually really filling.
SnackAJacks are a tasy addition but also don't dent my calorie intake.
Paired with 1.5 litres of water across my work day, I know my body is getting what it needs.
It's also easy. A quick supermarket shop last night, wrap made last night, and 5 minutes to put the rest together this morning.
So don't overthink it. Take it back to the basics, and you can feel good and have the energy to achieve your goals.
