There are a wide range of martial arts disciplines to choose from but, in general, they all strive to develop skills that we hope to encourage in ourselves. Often referred to as the ‘art of winning’ it is a unique method of movement and strategy. Taijutsu is the basic defence method used – relaxed and continuous body movement which allows effective defensive counters in attack situations. Ninjutsu isn’t just about physical prowess – it is also about training the mind and spirit so that we can develop skills that we can use in other areas of their life. If you have concerns over the fighting aspects of martial arts please don’t worry. Despite the ‘feudal origins’ of Ninjutsu all training within the Dojo (Martial Arts Training School) takes place in a disciplined manner – encouraging the use of technique and the mind to overcome the opponent, as opposed to gratuitous brute force. This, in turn, promotes self-restraint and reinforces positive behaviour. Techniques in Ninjutsu include locks, throws, ground fighting, multiple attacks and weaponry. Please feel free to contact us if you wish to discuss this, or any other queries, you may have.
