Family Karate Sketty, Swansea Family Oriented Traditional Karate for ages 7 & above. Self defence, fitness, determination, diciplince, respect, teamwork, friendship, fun.

Classes every Monday &Wednesday 6pm We recommend that new students do 2 trial lessons. We found in the past that children often became anxious on their first lesson and refused to join in with the regular class. The trials are fantastic at building confidence and preparing them. It also gives parents the opportunity to see what we teach and the benefits of martial arts to childrens development. At the end of the 2nd trial, children get their 1st belt and certificate, and will be ready and confident to join. Book here

🐯 Tiger Tag Focus: Kicking 🐯

Every powerful kick you see today started as a wobble.

For many of our Tigers, balance does not come naturally at first. Lifting one leg, holding their stance, aiming carefully, and striking with control takes courage, concentration, and determination. Especially at this age.

But something incredible happens when they keep trying.
This week, we have been working on chambering properly, maintaining balance, and kicking with purpose, not just speed. Because kicking is not about flinging a leg in the air. It is about control. It is about discipline. It is about listening carefully and executing with precision.

And here is what parents often notice…
The child who learns to balance on one leg begins to stand taller in other areas too.

The child who focuses long enough to aim their kick begins to focus longer at school.

The child who hears “again” and keeps going begins to build resilience.

From shaky first attempts…

To strong, controlled, confident kicks.

This is how we turn effort into belief.
