RECOVERY HAS NEVER BEEN SO SIMPLE

Recovery is one of the most overlooked and under utilised aspects in an athlete’s world. A good recovery can make a HUGE difference in overall performance and reduce risk of injury.

Master your sleep by getting at least 8 hours of quality sleep and keeping to a sleep schedule. Eating as much whole food and intaking all the macros and micros required along with regular hydration throughout the day. The more we can move throughout the day the better we can recover due to an increase in protein synthesis.

We want to be in a parasympathetic state (Relaxed) as much as possible which is why we want to reduce caffeine on these days. Breathing exercises, aerobic fitness along with a happy stress free day are massively under appreciated aspects that athletes aren’t doing

Do these things alone and your recovery will be 99% better

The trendy stuff such as massage guns and foam rollers have showed no improvement in recovery and are only beneficial for warm ups

Ice should only be used immediately for pain management when suffering from an acute injury, anything after that and you are doing more harm than good

Follow the PEACE & LOVE method along with a good sports therapist and see your recovery drastically improve

WELCOME TO DB PERFORMANCE & REHABILITATION

As many of you know, this has been a passion of mine for many years. After completing my degree I have further enhanced my knowledge by undergoing several courses which has allowed me to take this step into the industry
