Personal Statement From Club Founder Ben Jones.
When I founded Fforestfach FC in 2023, it was never just about starting another football club. The vision was to build a true community club in the heart of Fforestfach where people could come together, enjoy their football, make friendships and feel part of something bigger than themselves.
It was also a personal challenge as I took my first steps into football management and coaching, starting at the very bottom, learning the game at grassroots level and earning every bit of experience along the way.
Over the last three years, I have given everything I possibly could to Fforestfach FC, physically, mentally and financially and I don't regret a single second of it because I believed in the clubs vision, but running a grassroots football club is never easy. It takes commitment, dedication and willingness from everyone involved to keep things moving forward. Unfortunately, over the last year or so, that's where we ultimately fell short.
While this isn't the ending I had hoped for, I refuse to look back on Fforestfach FC as anything other than something to be proud of. We built a club from nothing, gave people a place to play football and for a time, built a genuine community around the club. Those are achievements that nobody can take away.
Finally, I want to say thank you to every committee member and coach who gave up their time to help myself and the club along the way. Your support and hard work never went unnoticed.
And to every single player who has ever represented Fforestfach FC, thank you. Regardless of when you joined, how long you stayed or how it ended, you all played a part in mine and the club's story. Thank you for being part of this journey, and I genuinely wish every one of you nothing but success at your current and future clubs.
