💛💙 RHOS U12 YELLOWS — WHAT A START 💙💛

What an amazing start to the season for our Yellows, coming away with a fantastic victory against Cwrt Herbert 👏⚽️

The boys came flying out from the very first whistle, putting Cwrt Herbert under huge pressure and finding the back of the net within the opening couple of minutes.

From there, we were relentless. 💪

Our desire to win the first ball and compete for everything meant Cwrt Herbert struggled to get out of their own half during the opening 20 minutes.

Isaac, Archer and Joel scored some fantastic goals, but it wasn’t just the goals that impressed the coaches — it was the football the team played to create them. 👏

We moved the ball really well, played through the lines and showed confidence in possession. Even when we were under pressure, we were composed enough to use our goalkeeper, keep the ball and start again. ⚽️👏

For our first competitive game together, there were so many positives. The result was fantastic, but the biggest thing for the coaches was seeing the boys trying to play the football we’ve been working on in training.

A brilliant team performance and a fantastic way to start the season 👏👏

🏆 PLAYER OF THE MATCH 🏆

Coaches’ Player of the Match was a very difficult decision because there were so many contenders after such a strong team performance.

But ultimately it went to…

⭐️ ISAAC ⭐️

Isaac grabbed plenty of goals, but it was his overall performance that really stood out.

He worked tirelessly in midfield to win the ball back, competed for everything and then showed real quality in possession with some fantastic passes to get us moving forward again.

Goals, hard work and a brilliant all-round midfield performance. 👏⚽️

💛 RHOS U12 YELLOWS — THE NEW SEASON STARTS HERE 💛💙

Our U12 Yellows are super excited to finally get their new season underway tonight after working hard throughout the summer! ⚽️💪

The Yellows begin their campaign with a rearranged away fixture against Cwrt Herbert, with the game now being played at Neath Sports Centre — KO 6:30pm. 💛⚽️

It’s been a busy summer of training, learning and preparing for the step up into junior football. Now we can’t wait to see the boys back where they want to be — out on the pitch playing matches! 🙌⚽️

Good luck to all the players and coaches tonight.

The 2nds took to the field on Saturday with a mixture of new signings, old faces and familiar regulars and eventually ran out convincing 7-0 winners against Ystradgynlais AFC.

It was a chaotic opening half, with Rhos creating plenty of chances but struggling to find the finishing touch. Will Silsby’s tireless work down the left caused Ystrad problems throughout, as Rhos continued to push for the breakthrough.

Late in the half, Richard Medwin weaved his way through the Ystrad defence before being brought down in the box. Penalty Rhos. Medwin stepped up himself and calmly dispatched the spot kick to finally give Rhos a deserved lead going into the break.

The second half was a completely different story.

Rhos came out swinging, with Luke Blanche delivering a quality cross for Alun Evans to head home and double the advantage.

Christian Thyer’s work down the right-hand side was causing more problems for Ystrad, and Sam Steel soon found himself inside the box, showing great composure to finish and make it 3-0.

Shortly afterwards, the Ystrad keeper rushed from his goal and lost his bearings, with the ball eventually falling to Steely around 40 yards out. There was still plenty to do, but Sam produced a sublime finish, chipping the stranded keeper from distance for his second of the game.

Aron ‘Eclipse’ Jones came off the bench and quickly got himself amongst the goals to make it five, before Alun grabbed his second of the afternoon. Eclipse then followed suit with his own second to complete the scoring and wrap up an emphatic 7-0 victory.

Man of the Match went to debutant Anthony ‘Poison’ Price, who produced a composed performance on the ball and seemingly covered every blade of grass off it.

A special mention also goes to Alun Evans, who marked his first game back with a brace alongside some quality defending.

And finally, the comeback hero. A very special welcome back to Mark ‘Sparky’ Adams, who pulled on the Rhos shirt for his first game in five years after a nasty leg injury and showed that the quality on the ball certainly hasn’t disappeared.

Seven goals, a clean sheet and plenty of positives for the 2nds. 💙💛

A late change of venue saw Rhos host league leaders Ynysygerwn at Cwrt Herbert, where a disciplined 0-0 draw underlined the side’s growing confidence and resilience.

Rhos started with purpose, togetherness and the team spirit that has driven their recent strong performances. Clear chances were limited in a tightly contested first half, but the best opportunities fell the way of Rhos.

Kieran Sweeney’s header forced an excellent save from the Ynysygerwn keeper, before Liam ‘Bisto’ Thomas looked to have found another opening, only to be denied by a questionable offside decision.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with the league leaders struggling to find a way through a superbly organised Rhos defence. Rhos remained compact, competitive and committed throughout, while a hard-working midfield battled for every ball and ensured Ynysygerwn were never allowed to settle into their rhythm.

The attacking chances needed to take all three points didn’t quite materialise, but another clean sheet and a point against the league leaders was a deserved reward for an excellent team performance.

Belief continues to build within this group, and much of that is being built on an increasingly solid defensive foundation.

Joey Adams, Tommy Harrison and Elliot Mills all delivered exceptional performances, but Man of the Match went to Kieran ‘Wendy’ Sweeney. Dominant in the air, composed throughout and leading by example both on and off the pitch, Wendy was at the heart of another impressive defensive display.

A well-earned point and plenty more positives to take forward. 💙💛

💛 *RHOS U12 BLUES* 💛💙

⚽️ *A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS*⚽️

Today saw our U12 age group kick off their first season of competitive junior football, with *Will Jones captaining the Blues* for our opening game away to Cwm Wanderers. 🔵⚽️

After going 1-0 down in the first half, the boys stuck together, kept battling and regrouped at half-time.

We spoke about raising the intensity, competing for every ball and believing in ourselves — and the boys certainly responded! 💪

We came out fighting in the second half and won ourselves a penalty, which was confidently dispatched by striker *Ben Andrews* to bring us level. ⚽️🔥

From there the game really opened up, with both teams creating chances and pushing for the winner, but neither side could quite find that final finish.

A really positive start to our first season of competitive football and, more importantly, plenty of lessons for the boys and coaches to take into the coming weeks.

We welcome Cwm to Rhos for the return fixture in a few weeks’ time and wish them all the best in their upcoming games. 👏

Joe brought incredible energy to the midfield today, tackling, battling and harassing the opposition from the first whistle to the last.

He seemed to cover every blade of grass on the pitch and never stopped working for his teammates. 💪⚽️

The Blues get us started on Saturday morning with a trip to Cwm Wanderers. 💙⚽️

Then on Wednesday evening, the Yellows begin their campaign as they welcome Cwrt Herbert to Rhos Park. 💛⚽️
