Swadlincote Lasers welcomed another group of TMUK colleagues for their annual basketball get-together!
Recently, TMUK colleagues gathered at Green Bank Leisure Centre for another successful after-work basketball session, continuing a tradition that brings people together through sport, teamwork and lots of laughs.
Players from Plastics, BRC, MSD and TME, along with TMUK retirees, had an evening of friendly competition, playing a mix of 3x3 and 4x4 games.
While the level of play might have been up for discussion, the enthusiasm and team spirit were undeniable.
The basketball initiative began in 2023 and has become an annual event, giving colleagues from different business areas a chance to connect outside of work, stay active and strengthen friendships across the wider Toyota community.
And guess what the ‘trophy’ was? After one player’s shoe sole decided it had had enough for one evening and separated from the rest of the shoe, we thought it deserved recognition. So, the ale was promoted to official trophy status!
More importantly, the event once again showed how valuable it is to bring people together from different functions and generations, with team members and retirees enjoying an evening of fun, exercise and friendly competition.
With plans already being discussed for the next session in 2027, organisers are excited to welcome even more participants from across TMUK.
