We are a social cricket club based in the small village of East Sutton south of Maidstone in the Weald of Kent.

We have two regular weekend sides that play friendly matches with local clubs. We are a village cricket club with our own ground and only play friendly games throughout the season.

Lovely day out at SmallHythe CC today, baking hot as usual and the wicket looking great considering the hot weather. The home side opted to bat and ended up 145 all out after the tail was decimated by Ben Tragett and Mike Young taking 6 wickets between them in 5 overs. After a good start East Sutton faltered a bit in the middle overs after Stewart (gammy foot) Young retired hurt on 52 but Ben tragett and the rolled out of retirement Bob Bartlett steadied the ship and brought home the victory with 5 overs to spare and 6 wickets down 😁

Nice game against Matfeild Green CC at the Shant ground today. Chasing 288 we came a solid 2nd coming up 90 short with 3 wickets still in hand.

Exciting game today at the Shant Ground playing a Mote CC development XI.
East Sutton made a modest 155-8 off their 40 overs after some good bowling by the Mote. After a rocky start slumping to 40-4 at one point and way behind the run rate some good middle order blows took the mote to 102-5 with 10 overs to go. A stumping and a run out scuppered the Mote’s chances only for their no 10 to come in with 6 overs to go on 125 and hit 15 off an over to send the away crowd wild! The experienced Ben Tragett spoiled the party with 2 wickets in the 39th over to leave the Mote all out on 145 .

East Sutton posted 228 on a glorious day at the Shant Ground. Rob Yardy with 75 and the rest of the team chipping in. After falling to 28-3 and 64-5 Town Malling recovered with a big 6th wicket partnership to take the game down to the wire. With only 26 runs needed off the last 3 overs with 2 wickets remaining only for Jonah Harcourt to polish off the tail to end Malling’s valiant effort to push for the win.

A good match against Telston and Mereworth yesterday with East Sutton batting 1st putting up a score of 178-8 then bowling the opposition out for 120 with Debutant Chathura taking a hat-trick!

Cloudy skies and cooler weather away at Ash village today. Played a rare timed game and accumulated 215 by tea time which was a decent score. After a big fat tea with many savouries and piles of cake East Sutton took regular wickets winning the game with 7 overs to spare, the last Wicket was a great grab by Chris Scratchley off the bowling of Debutant Parminder Singh ❤️

East Sutton chasing 161 against Smallhythe, currently 100-4 and the match is in the balance…….

East Sutton ended up winning the match with 5 wickets down and 10 overs remaining, a great all round team performance and thanks to our 2 guests who played for us John and Andrew ❤️

Nice day at Hildenborough CC today, a good win putting on 176 with the home team falling short after being pinned down by some good bowling. Nice place and nice teas, I love a corned beef sandwich! Proper old school ❤️
