Sutton Coldfield Hockey Club is now one of the largest hockey clubs in the UK with over 400 members. With 8 men’s sides, 7 ladies’ sides, a Badgers sides, a thriving youth section and a variety of veterans sides, SCHC is a great place to play hockey and meet new friends. Ladies Performance squads (1-3s) train on a Tuesday night, 7-9:30pm at Wyndley Leisure Centre. Ladies Club training is 7-8.30pm

Junior training takes place on Sunday mornings from 9am at Wyndley and Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School. Sutton Coldfield Men’s Hockey Club was formed in 1891 and is one of the oldest clubs in the Midlands. The club has shared its home with Sutton Coldfield Cricket club since 1891 and continues to use the Rectory Park clubhouse. The Ladies’ Club was reformed after the Second World War in 1949 and has achieved amazing levels of success in recent years. The 1st XI plays in the National League Conference Midlands and have won both national and European titles. Sutton Ladies’ have produced some top international players including successful Olympians Jane Sixsmith, Laura Unsworth, Barbara Hambley and Mandy Davies. Sutton Juniors began life in 1989 following the increased interest in hockey after the Men’s GB team won the Gold Medal at the Seoul Olympics. The Club have always excelled at providing an excellent level of coaching for all youngsters, and this has led to a significant number of players achieving international, county and Midlands regional representation. The Club play the majority of home games on the all weather pitches at Wyndley Leisure Centre and Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School, both in Sutton Coldfield. Then all teas and socialising take place back at the Clubhouse in Rectory Park. Each year, the Club holds a Gala Ball which is attended by over 200 members from all hockey sections and acts as a great opportunity to review the season and present the individual Player of the Season and Top Goalscorer awards for each team within the Club. All in all, Sutton Coldfield Hockey Club continues to go from strength to strength and we welcome all new members to our fantastic Club.
