🐅 Sutton United Tigers vs Arden Forest Reds

A first home game of the season for the Tigers as we welcomed Arden Forest Reds, a side we’d never faced before.

From the first whistle the boys were right on it. The football was sharp, confident and brilliant to watch, with our style of play becoming more recognisable and consistent every week.

It didn’t take long for the goals to start flowing, with some superb team moves finished off by Josh, Rudy, Enzo and Caiden, alongside some outstanding moments of individual quality from Theo and Kurt. All of the boys played brilliantly!

The compliments from opposition parents and spectators afterwards were lovely to hear and thoroughly deserved. This group continues to grow from strength to strength, not just technically but in their understanding of the game and how we want to play.

A brilliant night for the boys having the legend that is Matt Bishop join training tonight! 💚⚽️

There’s something really special about our club and the way the first-team players give their time to the youth teams. For the boys to train alongside players they look up to and see what’s possible with hard work is priceless.

A proper session too …explosive work, plenty of sprints, passing and movement, finishing and a 5v5 to end it. The boys absolutely grafted! 💪🏼

Matt was brilliant with them and got properly stuck in. Huge thanks to him, the Sutton United management team for keeping this going and Coach Andy for another great session.

Now ready for our game against Arden Forest on Sunday! 💚🐅⚽️

⚪ SEASON OPENER | KEWFORD UNITED vs SUTTON UNITED TIGERS ⚪🟢

The Tigers kicked off the new season with an early start and a trip to Eagles Park to face Kewford United.

A large, bobbly grass pitch provided the perfect early-season test and a great opportunity for the boys to get accustomed to the different challenges that come with playing on grass.

From start to finish, the Tigers were excellent. In a hard-fought and physical battle, the boys stood up to everything that came their way, played some really good football and came away as thoroughly deserved winners.

A brilliant way to start the season and plenty to build on as the boys get back into the rhythm of competitive football.

🐅 Sutton United Tigers 3-0 Solihull Academy 🟢⚽️

The Tigers welcomed a very strong Solihull Academy side who will be playing a year up in the league next season, giving us another excellent pre-season test.

Caiden gave Sutton the perfect start with an early goal to make it 1-0, but for large parts of the first half Solihull caused us real problems. It was a scrappy opening half from the Tigers with Freddie called into action for a couple of important saves.

The second half was a different story. The ball speed improved, the passing became sharper, with that the Tigers began to take control of the game.

Caiden grabbed his second with a composed finish before Enzo added a third to secure a 3-0 win. At the other end Ben produced some excellent last-ditch defending to help protect the clean sheet.

A much improved second-half performance from the Tigers against a very good Solihull side who played some excellent football throughout. They will cause plenty of top teams problems this coming season.

Another really valuable pre-season workout for the boys. 🐅💚⚽️

🐅⚽️ SPORTING MARKFIELD 3-3 SUTTON UNITED TIGERS ⚽️🐅

The Tigers travelled to face a strong Sporting Markfield side today, with the firm, fast grass pitch providing a different challenge for the boys.

Despite the difficult conditions, Sutton stuck to the game plan, played some excellent football and created well in excess of 15 chances during the first half. Rudy found the net for the Tigers, but Markfield reacted quickest to their two best opportunities to take a 2-1 lead into the break.

The half-time message was simple: change nothing. Keep playing, follow everything in and make the goalkeeper work.

The response was excellent. 💚

Sutton took control, made Markfield uncomfortable and forced the hosts into a more direct style of play which the Tigers dealt with superbly before going straight back on the attack.

Two goals from Lawson turned the game around, with our third coming from an excellent passage of football given the conditions. At 3-2 it looked like the Tigers had done enough, but with literally the final kick of the game Markfield punished a mistake at the back to sn**ch a 3-3 draw.

A frustrating ending, but another really positive pre-season workout with plenty to take from the performance. 👏

A real squad effort today with all Sutton sides in our age group represented, plus a helping hand from our two friends at Arden Forest, Lawson and Bailey. Cheers lads! 🤝💚

Thanks to Sporting Markfield for hosting us. A really competitive game against a strong side, and hopefully we can return the favour at some point.

Presentation night for Sutton United Tigers U10s 🐯⚽️

A brilliant evening celebrating a fantastic season with a great group of boys.

The results speak for themselves. Competing all season at the highest level in the league, winning the Winter Cup 🏆 and reaching all three cup finals is a huge achievement. Every player should be proud of what they’ve accomplished.

What makes this group special though is their attitude. They’ve worked hard for each other, shown real commitment to learning, embraced every challenge and continued to improve week after week. Development has always been the focus, helping each player progress, gain confidence and become a better teammate as well as a better footballer.

Most importantly, they’re a great bunch of lads who have built strong friendships and are growing into lovely young men. It’s been a pleasure watching their journey this season.

Tonight was about recognising their effort, progress and achievements. From tomorrow, the focus shifts to the next stage of their development as we prepare for the move to U11s.

Well done, boys. Enjoy the memories from a brilliant season. You deserve every bit of recognition. 💚⚽️👏🏆
