A bit of maintenance work on the Turquoise terrapin ready for Canoefest. All the woodwork cleaned and re oiled, and the solo seat re-laced.
I made the mistake of not photographing the old seat before I cut the old cord off, so it took some head scratching and some trial and error attempts to get it finished.

About time! 6 years for this decision!
Maybe also a possibility here for another (Sharks) moving water slalom training site on the Colne below the weir above the sailing club?

Sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding are among the activities being lined up for the site in Harefield

The Paint Factory weir about as good as it gets at these water levels. It was a good hour's workout. Now I need coffee and cake!

Litter picking on the River Wey. Lots of rubbish in the trees now after the flooding earlier in the year.

Edit/addition: I filled two bags from the weir pool down for about a 100 metres.
I’d estimate there is 10 time that amount below that. Most is on the right hand bank and quite high up so will need long poles or getting out of the boat on to the bank to reach. There is a small amount on th edges of the right hand bank, again a longer pole or hook needed especially if/as the level drops.
