SEPARATION CAN BE PAINFUL BUT STAYING TOGETHER CAN BE DEVASTATING.
When people talk about separation they often focus on the pain, disruption and anxiety that going their separate ways will cause.
Maybe the one who wants to leave will feel a huge amount of guilt and responsibility for their partners happiness.
The one who wants to stay together will find all kinds of reasons to keep trying, work on the relationship and stick it out.
There can be another way and sometimes when one partner has made their mind up to leave, forcing them to stay can be the worst decision for everyone, including children.
Staying in a relationship that is no longer built on love, trust and wanting to share your lives together can lead to tension, resentment and regret.
Being able to separate in a way that is kind and respectful involves honest communication to work out how you can 'uncouple' in a way that feels less painful and results in being able to see a better future for you both.
