Sunderland Aquatic Centre More than just a swimming pool, Sunderland Aquatic Centre offers a huge range of fitness and activity options.

North East England’s premier aquatic facility features a 50m Olympic-standard pool (split into two 25m pools), a 25m diving pool with 1m, 3m, and 5m boards, and a 140-station gym equipped with Life Fitness cardio and strength machines. The Olympic-sized main pool hosts various activities in the water, including lane swimming, inflatable fun and Everyone Active’s award-winning swimming lessons, while the dedicated diving pool offers diving lessons too. The centre also boasts and enormous 140-station gym, as well as a variety of both virtual and instructor-led group fitness classes that cater for all ages and abilities. Furthermore, kids can also work off that extra energy in the fantastic fun soft play area.

Aquatics GB, in partnership with Scottish Swimming and Swim England, is looking for young people aged 12–16 with a background in gymnastics, acrobatics, trampoline or similar sports to take part in the Fast Track Talent Transfer programme.

This exciting opportunity could help talented young athletes transfer their skills into diving and begin their journey through the sport’s talent pathway 🙌

Due to a football match taking place at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday 8th September, there will be parking restrictions in place.
Customers can use the Blue car park on a first come basis and will close at 5pm. Please allow extra time for you journey and to find alternative parking arrangements.
