“ Jamie got my MOTM because his movement was excellent today. He ran his socks off for the side
He created the first goal with a brilliant run and his strike was well saved by the keeper which fell into the hands of Rhys to tap home.
He has been vital to how well we have done this season and how Cooley he slotted away his penalty to win it with the last kick of the game was pure first class”. 🎖️

He didn’t stop running. He was running forward in their box and in the next breath he was defending in our box.

GAFFA’s MATCH REPORT 📝

“Today was always going to be a tough game due to playing a team we are very unfamiliar with.

To be honest, we played today in 2nd gear, not giving many clear cut chances away but not really troubling their goalkeeper either.

The game turned to be quite fiesty in the end and the referee lost control of it , however I thought both sides didn’t let it get out of control when playing.
Ivy house were the better side today and kept majority of the ball but they didn’t really threaten us.
Guerin pulled off another crucial save at a pivotal point in the game but apart from that save , he had nothing else to do.

I’m proud of the lads today and it is a sign as a team we are only getting better.
Not playing our usual football , we had to be quite direct at times but coming away with the three points and not getting out of 2nd gear , is a sign of a winning side and we are getting into the winning mentality I had no doubt we’d get in to.

Massive 3 points today and a cool penalty from Jamie to seal the three points was what we needed.
The lads didn’t stop working today and a credit to them.
Really proud gaffa today and long may this run of form continue”

“Today was a top performance, in every aspect we were very very good.
Chichester had a lot of the ball and kept it more than us however I thought we were better in transition and we were excellent at both ends today.

We defended as a unit today, Josh Guerin made some very important saves in crucial moments.
We took our goals very well and we didn’t get dragged into the game becoming quite feisty at times.
The ref became very card happy but we remained focused on our job and that was to get 3 points.

We had Jed getting headbutted from one of their lads and had to come off , which is pretty embarrassing from their no8. Post match they also left their litter all over our home pitch which we had to go n clean up. Haway sort it out lads.
But today was a proper team performance and we done our talking on the pitch taking 6 points off Chichester so early on in the season.
all the lads stepped up to the plate and performed today.

A proper 3 points, clean sheet and plenty of confidence to take into next week.
So proud of the way the lads played and handled the game, every player in the squad contributed”

This Sunday Washington Wanderers take on The Chichester Arms FC. The wanderers recently won their cup draw against them 5-2 a few weeks back and are looking to repeat that victory today. It will be no easy feat Chichester are a strong team, who score goals and don’t shy away from a tackle however The Wanderers have all the ability to go out there n get all 3 points ⚽️

Joshua Gold picks up Managers MOTM 🎖️👏

As you can see he’s canny happy about it, admin isn’t too sure how he’s picked this one up since they let 5 goals in at the back but his individual performance must have been alright. Although if you have Gold in your FPL might be time to look at some cheaper options as he took him self on a run midweek n ended up on his arse in a nettle bush “Me Legs were stinging like f**k” so only 75% chance of playing

Solid performance yet again on Sunday with 2 goals to his name. The lad performs when the team doesn’t. The lad is an absolute machine. Well in Jed mate keep it up 👏🎖️

GAFFA’s match report 📝

‘Well to be honest , not much to say about Sundays cup game bar it was just a bad day at the office. We started the game slow, couldn’t get a foothold in the game at all and we only showed a 10minute spell in the second half of the game, which is just no where near enough.

We struggled to deal with the press of velocity and we couldn’t string two passes together all game. We scored two good goals but the lads just didn’t do the basics right on Sunday and that cost us. We were sloppy in possession , we weren’t anticipating anything and very disorganised out of possession.

These game happen in football and there will be some weeks where you just have to take your hat off to the opposition , who deserved to win the game and we’re the better side throughout the full game.
I want to see a real reaction next Sunday when the lads come up against Chichester and I want us to put on a real performance and get back to playing how we normally play.

Well done to velocity for being the better side and getting through to the next round, they thoroughly deserved to go through and we look forward to playing them on the league.

On a negative tho, velocity nicking two of our match balls over the weekend is pretty poor crack, especially after we gave their goalkeeper stu a SnapBack to wear to keep the sun out of his eyes for the full game.
But hey ho, match balls must be expensive over that way anyways.

Our attention turns to Sunday now and I’m hoping the lads can get the 3points against a very good side.

Gaffa’s Match Report 📝

‘Today was a great 3 points for us, being the better side first half going 2-1 up at the break. However we made hard work of the second half. Birtley came at us and we’re the better side but we are showing everybody that we can win games in different ways and that is always a good sign.

To be honest we didn’t create many chances throughout the game. However we didn’t let Birtley create many clear-cut chances either.
It was a very resilient performance from the lads who grafted all for 90 minutes we are starting to play like a proper side and hopefully we can continue our unbeaten run going into next week. Sometimes in football it’s not about how you play, it’s about getting the three points.
We know we weren’t at our best today, but we manage to get over the line and get three points and I am proud of my Lads for that.
