Was always going to be a tough test going against a fellow unbeaten side yesterday, but the lads dug deep and managed to walk away with a well deserved 3 points

Great test of character pulling the game back from going 0-2 down after two very well worked goals from the opposition. Came to expect that attitude from the lads, there’s an unbelievable sense of togetherness this season which reflects on the results. Good to see 20+ back to the pub after to celebrate the win 🍻

Don’t think it’s anything to shy away from that our home pitch has became notorious for litter and antisocial behaviour. Amount of times I’m stood on the sideline surround by empty NOS cans and vodka bottles is mental. With this in mind I thought I’d brave the rain this morning to give the place a much needed tidy up, and take some pride in the park I used to knock about in as a bairn.

It might only be a litter pick, but if everyone done a little bit extra here and there, it would make a big difference. In an hour I’ve managed 9 bin liners full of cans, bottles, nos cans, etc.

Very proud to be based at The Jolly Potter- South Hylton and want to represent SR4 both on and off the pitch. If anyone ever wants to pop over to watch a game, feel free to drop us a message and we’ll share the match details. Want to try build a community here, more than just a Sunday footy team

Another dominant performance from the lads today.

Could’ve easily been 4 or 5 up in the first 15 minutes but their keeper decided to turn into a prime Peter Cech preventing us from doing so. The opposition then managed to bag a screamer putting us 0-1 down, which fortunately kicked the lads arses into gear. Went into half time leading 3-1, and we just built from there.

The game finished 8-1 but it could’ve easily been about 15 if our lads possessed the ability to score within 10 yards of goal 😂

Great team spirit and togetherness on display, all 6 subs getting plenty of game time, what Sundays are all about.

The Jolly Potter South Hylton FC 10-0 Wear United FC

Dominant display from start to finish against a 10-man Wear United.

Some amazing saves from the opposition goalkeeper kept the scoreline at 4-0 going into first half water break. The lads began taking their foot off the gas and were swiftly reminded at HT that we needed to put the game to bed. A further 6 goals were scored throughout the remaining 45 minutes.

Never looked like losing but fair play to Wear United for turning up and getting a run out. Great bunch of blokes and I’m certain I’ll be having nightmares of Sam Wade screaming for offsides for the foreseeable.
