The boys played some good stuff yesterday and put up a fair battle against the opposition. It was a physical game and the lads did some good passing and tracking back. The scoreline didn’t reflect the effort the lads put in, one extra goal from Silky would have meant a draw but unfortunately we couldn’t get that extra. The lads never stopped trying but unfortunately it just didn’t come and so the saying goes, you can’t win them all. I’m sure the lads will dig deep at the next training session and come back fighting next week. Well done boys, always proud of you and the effort you put in 💙

Yesterday marked the first day of the spring cup for the Silky boys. It was a great game, the lads played some unreal football and dominated the first half effortlessly. Constantly putting pressure on the opposition, creating chance after chance. Into the second half Sunderland West End came back fighting and managed to get a goal past us, however there was no stopping our lads they were pressing with every goal kick and ended up with their first win of the spring cup. Onto a good start - well done lads, looking forward to the next one! 💙

Yesterday the lads were up against South Shields and they were just pipped to the post. However they played some unreal football and couldn’t be faulted on their performance. On this occasion it just didn’t go our way. The lads were pressing and defending with everything they had and we can’t ask for any more than that. It was a good game and the lads played outstanding! We are always proud of them no matter if we win, draw or lose! 💙

It was a hot one for the lads today and they ended up 3-0 down in the first half, which didn’t reflect the way in which they played. Their passing and 1-2s were working really well and in the second half the lads managed to get two great goals, meaning we just fell short of a draw at the final whistle. However there were some unreal balls played forward from the back and the lads got stuck in playing some really good football. Thank you to James and Kit for stepping up taking a stint in goal whilst our goalkeeper was away on his holidays. Well done lads! 👏🏼

Once again the lads started off a little slow today and the pitch conditions were causing a little bit of annoyance with the ball bouncing all over. But the lads played their best and managed to get the win. Credit where credits due, Durham Cestria put up a good fight today and if it wasn’t for their keeper we could have had a fair few more goals. And last but not least a massive shout out to our defenders at the back, they kept us in the game and made some superb clearances - well done lads! Overall a good game and we look forward to the next one! 💙

We were up against a very physical and fast paced team today but the lads matched that and dug deep to secure the win. Absolutely freezing conditions for today’s early kick off, but that didn’t stop the boys! They were amazing, slipping all over the place but still managed to put on a good performance. We had a couple of lads missing this week meaning the remaining players had to switch up their positions, which they took in their stride and made it look easy and comfortable. Unfortunately the lads started off on the back foot with an early goal from Beamish, but this ignited the fire even more to dig deep and press and push as much as possible. Going into the second half we had the upper hand and had been dominating the pitch fiercely, but Beamish managed to catch up. The game looked like it might finish in a draw however in the final moments we conceded a very unlucky goal. Nevertheless the lads battled endlessly and were obviously gutted with the result but they’ll come back fighting fit next week, mark my words. Well done Silky! 💙
