Mental Health Awareness Week πΈ
Yesterday I hopped on this trend & it reminded me of this particular perspective, which links with how we view/speak about ourselves whether we internalise it or project it. So hear me out.
The next time your mind is being critical over the way you look, how you show up in your day, if you've made mistakes, how you view yourself and or your critically giving yourself a hard time over what life is currently like, remember that little you still lives inside of you and is always listening.
People think we grow into adulthood and the child we once were is gone. Think about it for a moment..
All your inner child wants is love, safety, to play and to know you are showing up for them too. Can you hand on heart allow voices of others that you have internalised as beliefs over the years in your mind to tear little you apart like that?
Cast your mind back to being a child and remind yourself of the hobbies you used to love. Why not take it up again in adulthood? Age is a number and the only person standing in your way is you.
So the next time you find yourself giving yourself a hard time, stop for a moment, think of little you and show up for yourself in the way your inner child is asking to be held. Different situations will araise different parts of your childhood, you just have to listen closely to what little you is asking for.
With that being said..
Do what you love, tell yourself daily that you love yourself unconditionally, remind your body that its safe, that you are there for YOU. Most importantly, create that voice in your head that gives you the same compassion you meet everyone else with and watch your mind, perspective & energy completely shift. Even if your mind responds by telling you you cant, you can. Nothing changes unless you decide to make change, and consistency is the key π
