"We stood on the stage last presentation and we said we going to win the league next season. The room, the players, the parents and every nodded in agreement. We had the belief and the confidence in our squad to do that and off we went. Not many teams can say they started the season with the same eleven players and ended the season with the same squad. Not one mid season signing!"
"We probably at most played five game with our full eleven squad. Most games we had the bare nine, players missing due to holidays, injuries or illness. Did we use it as an excuse? No, we got on with it, players moved around to help out, we pulled our socks up and did the job for each other"
"There was key points, key games throughout last season and we raised ourselves to every challenge and moved onto the next as the games ticked away. Hats off to Birtley who with 7 or 8 games in hand won the lot and pushed us to the end. We won it on goal difference but our names is No1 our name as champions. You can say we scored more but you could also say we conceded less. We ended the season scoring the most goals, conceding the least goals and most clean sheet. Massively proud of every player this season. Use have done yourself and us very proudly. Champions"
