Our mission is to be inclusive, for all levels of swimmers, giving the opportunity to complete at the highest level. The City of Sunderland Amateur Swimming Club is affiliated with Northumberland and Durham Swimming Association and the Swim England North East Region, which provides both 25m and 50m training facilities. We are the only swimming club based in the North East which provides both 25m and 50m training facilities. We currently have a club membership of over 150 athletes and have plans to significantly increase our swimming membership. All of our coaching staff are experienced and fully qualified to provide expertise and support throughout the whole athlete pathway from ‘Learn to Swim to Elite Level’. Within our club, we regularly produce swimmers who compete at County, Regional and National level. Producing swimmers who have achieved success at the highest level and have seen our young swimmers make a real impact, resulting in medallists and champions at county, Regional and National Championships. We have had athletes placed at major international events including the 2009 World Championships, 2009 European Youth Olympic Festival and the 2010 World IPC Championships. We also take great pride in our inclusivity at the club and are delighted with the national successes achieved by our disabled athletes. This resulted in representing Team GB, Paralympic gold medals and World Records. A sustainable world class programme achieving excellence from learn to swim to podium success. A winning attitude. Commitment. Excellence. Strength & Conditioning
Our club also have a dedicated Strength & Conditioning coach who is responsible for running all our S&C programmes within our club, helping build a more robust athlete to better tolerate the demands of swimming, aid in improving performance in the pool and most importantly reduce the risk of injury.
