A highly disappointing last couple of games from the lads, and a much needed turn around.
Hounded by injuries we turned up today with a bare 11, the gaffa as the only sub and a lad turning up at half time.
Game started much of the same as what we have seen in the last couple of games, going 1-0 down early doors, which was swiftly met with a 2nd goal conceded.
But for a change, heads didn’t drop and the lads dug deep. Compensating for LB Steve Hall who suffered every injury in the space of 45 minutes the lads found one back through a Steve ‘Beckham’ Langton free kick left the keeper scrambling to try and keep it out the top right corner. 2-1.
This was then followed up when Langton turned provider from another free kick finding the feet of Lewis Dodd who tapped the ball home. 2-2
Change of formation and a more positive approach and we took it to them from the off silencing the home teams sideline who were giving it the biggan on the sideline first half.
Lads pushed and eventually found a breakthrough. Steve Langton assisting once again, this time from a corner who found Liam Miller who flicked the ball through the keepers legs, he scrambled to keep the ball out but it had crossed line… definitely crossed the line 👀. 2-3
Lads seen it home and grabbed a vital 3 points, not for the league table but for our own mentality that we can come back from deficits and not drop standards.
Absolutely buzzing with the result and the performance to go with it.
Brad Mitchell somehow walked away with MOTM… some may say Steve Langton was robbed 👀
