Sloanes Decorating Services - The Flying Boat 6 – 2 Sunderland South

🚀 1–0 | First minute — What a start! Andy holds up brilliantly, lays it off to Jay, who picks out a perfect ball over the top for Stavers to run onto and slot home!

⚠️ Early blow — Unfortunately we lose Bassi to injury. Our centre-half forced off — wish you a speedy recovery, Bassi! 💪 The disruption sees us lose a bit of momentum.

😅 The Bell incident — Josh Bell fumbles, latches onto their centre-forward’s ankle for dear life! A nervy moment, but he redeems himself instantly — pulls off a brilliant save from the follow-up to keep us ahead.

2–0 — Andy turns provider, slips the ball to Jay on the edge of the box, who hits a sweet left-footed strike right into the bottom corner!

3-0 Andy was found by a great ball by Ollie in the box and Andy somehow scores from the most obscene position ever!

4-0 — Wadey absolutely hounds their full-back at the byline, wins the ball back brilliantly, and fires it into the six-yard box for Ollie to smash home.

4–1 — Second half sees us wobble a bit, and they pull one back with an absolute screamer. Nothing we could do about that one — top finish.

4–2 — They grab another to make it interesting, but we never panicked.

5–2 — Stavers turns creator, plays a lovely long ball over the top, and Ollie latches onto it to coolly slot home. Game settled again!

6–2 — Jay once again the architect — spots the run, plays a sublime ball over the top, and Andy times his run perfectly to slot it home. The perfect finish to a brilliant day!

Another good win and three more points on the board for The Boat! A real team effort from start to finish. We had our moments to navigate, but the lads stuck at it and showed exactly what we’re about. Couldn’t ask for much more!

The flying boat are delighted to welcome Kieron Trott onboard for the 26/27 season, it’s a shame to see another SSL team folding but we’ve decided to pounce quickly! Kieron provides further depth in the squad being versatile in a few positions and a great left foot happy to have a player like him in and around the squad!

Flying Boat 5 - 3 The Grange | County Cup

We kicked off our County Cup campaign against last season’s Premier League side The Grange.

First Half: We started a touch nervy, but created the better chances early on — Catchy went close and rattled the bar with a free-kick! Then a moment of quality: Nathan Stavers picked out Ollie with an absolute peach of a diagonal ball, Ollie crossed it in perfectly, and Andy finished it cooly to make it 1-0. The Grange found an equaliser late in the half — 1-1 at the break.

Half-time: Straight talking — we knew we hadn't hit our standards yet.

Second half: We absolutely exploded out the blocks. Catchy turned provider, floating a beautiful ball to the back post where Stavers controlled it perfectly and volleyed it home — stunning finish! Then Catchy won the ball high up the pitch and played Andy through; this time Andy turned provider, sliding it through for Ollie to slot home — 3-1!

We weren't done. Wadey picked out Andy in the box with a sublime pass — easy finish, 4-1! Then Andy turned creator again, firing a ball across the box for Ollie to tap in his second — 5-1! 💥

A couple of lapses in concentration saw The Grange pull two back — including a penalty (that's Jaxon with 2 penalties conceded in 3 games — legend status confirmed 🙌🤣) — but the job was well and truly done.

Nervy start, but once we clicked? We looked like a proper side.

But all in all absolutely not good enough today and we demand better from the lads and they know that!

Flying Boat FC 3 - 2 Fatfield

We welcomed an established Premier League side to downhill hub — and what a battle we had.

The first 15 minutes were shaky. Nerves got the better of us, a lapse in judgement let Fatfield in to take an early lead, and we had work to do.

But we didn’t fold. We grew into it fast and started playing our game. Some brilliant hold-up play from Andy on the edge of the box drew the foul — and Catchy stepped up to curl the free-kick into the bottom corner. 1-1.

We kept the pressure on. Wadey scrapped and battled to win the ball, it fell to Ollie 40 yards out — keeper stranded in no man’s land — and he volleyed it home. 2-1.

Fatfield grabbed an equaliser in the second half to set up a grandstand finish — but we had more in store. This time Catchy turned provider, delivering a perfect ball into the box that Ollie powered past their keeper with a thumping header. 3-2.

Every single one of the lads grafted their bo****ks off today, fought for every ball, and earned every inch of that win. Fully deserved, lads.

All the best to Fatfield — a cracking game played the right way.
