What a night at the Vertu Motors Arena yesterday. A great show from Jobes Boxwith fantastic production and some great bouts. Special praise for the matchmaking as there were competitive fights throughout.

Fight wise it’s hard to look past Matt McCallum and Adam Hepple. Two warriors who left everything in the ring. Congrats to Matt, now a history maker 3 Northern Area belts at 3 different weights, and he left with a fiancée as well. Brilliant to see the respect afterwards, not that it was ever in any doubt. Adam can come again if he chooses - the trilogy anyone?

Hannah Robinson 👏 a brilliant main event that perfectly showcased female boxing. Charlie Sutton more than played her part but Hannah’s superior ring IQ got her through.

Joe Miller executed the game-plan perfectly as he got his first pro title and Cyrus Pattinson is a champion again, coming out on top in a gruelling contest.

Well done to everyone who played their part, from the fighters to all the team at Jobes.

Full fight review over the next day, once I’ve got some caffeine into me.

I never take for granted the access to weigh-ins, ringside and everything else that comes with covering the sport as effectively, a passion.

Every fighter I’ve spoken with over the years has been courteous and even on weigh-in day, when emotions are high and in some instances, the tank is running empty as the final weight is dropped, there’s always time for a few words.

Good luck to everyone fighting on the Titles on the Tyne card tomorrow.

I can’t wait.

Fight night is almost here and it’s a big one. A huge show for Jobes Boxing Promotions as “Titles on the Tyne” arrives at the Vertu Motors Arena on Saturday night.

A stacked card featuring an array of talent from across the region, which highlights the current strength of boxing in the North East.

It was the promotional debut of Danny Inskip and Boss Boxing Promotions at the Sunderland Live Arena last night.

There were dominant victories for Ben Rees and Shaun Huddart but it was Jason Cu***ng who stole the show as he edged Yahir Morales in a pulsating affair, backed on by his loyal base of travelling support.

Congratulations to Boss Boxing Promotions and Danny Inskip on his promotional debut last night. Not the smoothest of run up’s but that’s boxing for you and they adapted well.

Fight of the night was undoubtedly Jason Cu***ng who always entertains. Recovered well from being dropped and finished strong. He has such a relentless style and it’s great to watch.

Good to see Ben Rees back out there and congratulations to Shaun Huddart who dominated against a game opponent.

Production was good and I’m sure there’ll be plenty of big nights ahead.

April 18 is a big night for Darlington Elite Boxing Academy as Hannah Robinson fights for her first professional titles and Sophia Maycroft makes her long awaited debut.

Women’s boxing is firmly back on the radar and it’s great to see both fighters get the opportunity to showcase their talent on such a big show, with Hannah headlining.

I caught up with them both at last weekends media workout to chat about their fights and hopes for the rest of 2026.

Titles on the Tyne is stacked with mouthwatering fights from top to bottom, but if you had to pick one standout contest, it’s hard to look past the rematch between Matt McCallum and Adam Hepple, this time for the Northern Area Light Heavyweight title.

At yesterday’s media workout I caught up with both men, discussing their preparation for this one and their thoughts ahead of fight night.

Great to see them in such high spirits and counting down the days to the first bell.

Great couple of hours spend at the Jobes media workout ahead of Titles on the Tyne which takes place a fortnight today on April 18 at the Vertu Motors Arena.

All the fighters were present and some good conversations had. I think the resounding takeaway is everyone is buzzing to be part of the card.

Plenty of content to drop over the next week and a bit as we move towards fight night.
