A 2-0 defeat today against Auckland Moors, unfortunately for us, we deserved to be beaten, but every now and then you have to taste defeat and learn to improve going forwards, and that's what these boys will do today.

Some outstanding individual performances today, particularly defensively and from MOTM Leo.

A few bad decisions from the referee won't change the outcome so we move forward to the next one.

Match Report;

After a very close 1st half, the deadlock wasn't broken, chances fell for David and Tyler but neither able to beat the keeper, likewise their No.8 was excellent and tested Ethan a few times in our goal.

We started to fade a little bit after a couple fitness and minor medical issues and unfortunately conceded a penalty through Theo (who was collosal today) to go 1-0 down. We then had a 'was it in or not' moment after Lex appeared to draw us level with a good strike, but it was ruled out (due to the quality of the goals and nets at the venue).
The ball was called out for a dribble in to Auckland which was nowhere near out, our lads stopped and Auckland ran up the other side of the pitch and made it 2-0.

A disappointing result but we move on the the next!

What a way to start the season! Coming away 2-1 winners against a good Belmont side, both sides evenly matched it could have gone either way, a non stop end to end game filled with excitement.

Belmont took the lead through a well crafted dribble in playing the ball across the face of our goal for a tap in. Then Mason Anderson pulled off an excellent save from a penalty to keep us in the game as we headed into half time 1-0 down.

The second half we came flying out with a few chances, eventually Lex was brought down edge of the box, he picked himself up and smashed home the free kick! It went 1-1. Another penalty was awarded to Belmont and Mason again saved very well, on the counter Leo had the ball on the right hand side and shot from outside of the box to the opposite far corner to complete the comeback and win 2-1.
