Winning consecutive matches in the South Middlesex League is a rarity for Sunbury Bowls but to win them on the same weekend is unprecedented.
First up were league newcomers Strawberry Hill .. good wins on 3 rinks resulted in an 8-2 win.
It was a tighter affair against last year’s 3rd placed team Staines .. the rinks were shared but a 64-55 shot advantage resulted in a 6-4 win.
Next up is a visit to Stanwell .. fingers are crossed for a hat-trick of wins.

It was a grand day out for Sunbury Bowls at Fordbridge Park on Saturday 19th. Competing in the 3-club day-long Bluewood Shield with hosts and local rivals Hampton, we won by 6 points from last year’s winners Hampton. The teams of Men’s, Women’s & Mixed Pairs and two triples all contributed magnificently to the overall point score with 2 or 3 wins out of 4 over the course of the day. It’s 6 years since Sunbury last tasted success in the competition so acting captain Dennis and the team were quite rightly rather chuffed. Thanks are due to Fordbridge Park for great organisation and hospitality .. and for helping take some vital points off Hampton!

Super proud of our Women’s Pairs team of Karen & Eileen who’ve won through against young and old at Cambridge Park, Staines and now Ashford to qualify for the county quarter and semi finals day at Bush Hill Park in July.

An evening of great food and bonhomie was had by all at Fulwell Golf Club at the annual presentation of trophies & awards on 18th November. All the winners deserved their night of glory and it was especially rewarding to see some collecting silverware for the first time – congratulations to Pat Fletcher, Colin Edwards, Alison Nabil and Simon Reynolds! Many thanks to everyone involved in organising such a well-polished evening and best wishes to everyone.

An A380 checked in on our bowls match today - played at Bishop Duppas in the John Gardner Trophy. Being on the right side of a one-shot scoreline was a nice change, helped by out-scoring the opposition in lucky wicks!
