The call for volunteers.

From the outside, an amateur rugby club can sometimes look like it has everything covered — plenty of members, plenty of volunteers, and a committee that seems to be everywhere at once.

But ask any committee and they’ll tell you the same thing: the more people who get involved, the less everyone has to run around!

With the new season just around the corner, now is the perfect time to think about getting involved.

Maybe you:

Know a rugby club near you
Have children who plays
Are a former player
Have just moved into the area
Want to meet new people
Have some spare time at weekends
Want to put your skills to good use
Know loads about volunteering — or want to learn
Fancy finding out how a rugby club actually works
Can cook… or always fancied running the bar!
Are good with numbers (or at least think you are!)
Know your way around paperwork or social media
Are a DIY expert
Or simply want to do something useful and have a laugh along the way

And here’s the really important bit: you don't need to know anything about rugby! 🏉

You don't need to understand the laws, know your scrum from your maul, or be able to name every player in the league. There’s a role for everyone, and someone at the club will find the right one for you.

You might meet new people, learn new skills, discover a new side of your community — and, quite possibly, go home on a Sunday smelling like a fry-up! 🍳

So, get in touch. Don't hesitate to join the team that's already there. The hardest part is taking that first step.

And if rugby isn't your thing, the same applies to any other sport or community organisation.

Although, obviously… rugby is better. 😉🏉

The new season is almost here — and it’s time to renew your London Irish Supporters Club membership for 2026–27!

Being a member means being part of the community that keeps the London Irish spirit alive. From matchdays and away trips to social events, friendships and supporting the club through thick and thin, there’s nothing quite like being part of the supporters’ family.

Ready to dust off the boots and level up your game? Pre-season for London Irish is officially here! Whether you’re aiming for elite competition or looking to develop your skills, we have a place for you.

We are recruiting for the upcoming season with two competitive squads:

1st XV: Competing in Championship 1
2nd XV: Competing in Championship 2 South West

Days: Every Tuesday & Thursday
