Sunday was a gorgeous day for getting the boards on the water - took these two out - both managed to stay dry until the very end.. when one fell in and had a refreshing little swim 😂

Now that the weather is warming up it’s time to get out on the river 😁 🙌 🛶 🏄
We have Paddleboards to hire from £20 an hour - £60 for the day!

We also provide lessons on a quiet stretch of the River Thames on a board that will be perfect for beginners. The board will feel comfortable and not unstable.

Here are the following steps we take to get you standing:

- We launch from the shallows enabling a safe, easy start
- Beginning in a kneeling position, we’ll take a few simple strokes on each side to move the board forward
-We’ll practice the paddling, turning and stopping techniques we discussed during the briefing
- One foot at a time you can begin to stand up within the middle of the board. You’ll want to keep your feet parallel and shoulder-width apart
- Like with skiing, you’ll want to keep a slight bend in the knee to keep your core activated and centred over the board
- In the beginning, it can be hard to keep your balance but do not get disheartened, your confidence and balance will build the more you paddle.

PADDLEBOARDING TIPS
DO: When standing, hold the paddle with one hand on the shaft and the other on top of the handle.
DON’T: When standing, hold the paddle with two hands on the shaft.
DO: Keep feet parallel and shoulder-width apart.
DON’T: Stand in a surfing stance.
DO: Keep your toes pointed towards the nose, emerge the blade fully into the water and rotate your core slightly to let your larger back muscles do most of the work.
DO: Keep the paddle close to the board when paddling in a straight line
DO: Move the paddle in a semi-circle from front to back or back to front when doing a basic turn.
DO: Get on the water as often as you can! It’s good for your physical and mental health and is a great social activity!
