This Sunday I’ll be running the London Marathon for East Anglian Air Ambulance — and this one is about so much more than 26.2 miles.
I’m running in memory of my friend Nathan and his sister Samantha, and for everyone carrying the loss of someone they love. Grief has a way of staying with us, but so does love. Some people run beside us, others we carry in our hearts every step of the way. You’ll Never Walk Alone.
I’m also running for the incredible work East Anglian Air Ambulance does every day — bringing lifesaving critical care when every second matters, giving people hope in their hardest moments, and saving lives across our region. It’s an honour to support a cause that means so much and does so much.
This training block hasn’t been perfect. An MCL injury tested me physically and mentally, and there were moments where the road to the start line felt uncertain. But maybe that’s what the marathon is really about — resilience. Showing up even when things aren’t perfect. Adapting. Digging in. Moving forward anyway.
This race is for remembering. For gratitude. For the people we’ve lost. For the lives being saved. For proving that setbacks don’t have to stop you.
26.2 miles of purpose.
For those we carry with us.For those helping save lives. For resilience. For never giving up.
