Lewis has worked incredibly hard over the past six week to increase his strength and power in preparation for the football season ahead, but also for overall physical fitness.

Been a pleasure working with Lewis, always putting in the work every session which is why his re testing numbers have improved so quickly in a short space of time.

5RM Trapbar - 110kg to 130kg
Broad Jump - 2.2M to 2.52M
3RM Bench - 75kg to 85kg
Pull ups in 1 min - 16 to 18
15kg Weighted Plank Hold - 45 seconds to 1 minute 23 seconds

Lewis is now ready for our new block which will be adjusted based on beginning pre season with his football club.

National Championships 26, what a huge milestone this competition was for Melanie Lester !

We went into this competition on the back of two very progressive training blocks and came in looking to achieve an ultimate goal of ours.

Mel came in with a fire in her and went and smashed the 100kg squat out of the park straight off 🎯

Mel not only won gold in her class but also achieved the award for the second best lifter of the whole of the M4 class! This is an incredible accomplishment against a very strong and experienced field.

Squat - 100kg
Bench - 45kg
Deadlift - 135kg

As always Mel you inspire us all to take life by the horns and go out there and do hard things! We are all so very proud of what you have achieved and will continue to achieve over the coming years.

Thank you for trusting in the process and for now helping others to follow that path too.

Worlds awaits next potentially and then we chase more personal bests and more medals πŸ₯‡

National Championships 26, a competition that highlights Feathers Harteveld resilience for a number of reasons.

At the start of the year we were on a strong return from a small back issue, then we were hit out of nowhere with a particularly unpleasant illness that meant a few weeks off from any training or exercise.

With an incredible level of true grit and determination Jeanette got back to work as soon as we could and the goals were set, we were reaching nationals and turning up to compete not just to show up.

The day hung in the balance after two squats but with an elite mindset and unwavering nerve we went out and smashed our third squat πŸ’ͺ🏻

Jeanette went on to comfortably achieve all of her next six lifts with expert form and control, achieving a bench PB! A very impressive total and one that has us competing at an incredible 10kg lower body mass than last year.

Squat - 85kg
Bench - 57.5kg
Deadlift - 125kg

As a coach I am always so proud of all of our amazing clients for so many different reasons, but for those that have even been in a position in sport where the next moment, lift or kick has the potential to remove you from a competition then you will know how that pressure must feel. To come back from that moment and to go on and achieve the goals we had set makes me incredibly proud of what you were able to achieve Feathers Harteveld

Yielding vs Overcoming Isometrics

How to do them:
βœ… hold a static position
βœ… try to move an immovable object

Why do them:
βœ… improves tendon health
βœ… enhance eccentric control
βœ… position specific strength
βœ… improve tendon stiffness

How long to do them:
βœ… 10 seconds to 5 minutes
βœ… 1 to 10 seconds

Off season with . Putting in the work ready for pre season with Bristol City.

Lower body plyometrics - Improve ability to absorb and produce force.

Upper body plyometrics - Same as lower body.

Lower body strength - Develop maximal strength in the lower body. Also unilateral movements to ensure strength symmetry.

Rotational Core - Develop the ability to transfer force through the torso and efficiently link the upper and lower body.

Isometrics - Less fatiguing on muscles as removes the concentric or eccentric movement as well as increasing tendon stiffness and health.
