It was wonderful to see Jenny Lambert training at the club this week and I look forward to Jenny regularly training with us again from July, after she as finished at university. Louis and Graham had better sharpen up their body movements as Jenny will have three years of attacking to catch-up on!

SVKC Summer Training Course Special Guests

On Wednesday 29 July we were joined on our Summer Training Course by two United States Airforce personnel from RAF Mildenhall, Juan Pacheco, Mike Michaud and his son Mikey, to demonstrate some of the basic groundwork survival programme which is taught to all USAF personnel. After a warm up of forward rolls and ‘Shrimping’ the class was split into two groups with Mike Michaud teaching the juniors how to roll for ‘dominate position’ and ground skill games. Juan Pacheco took the seniors students and demonstrated a series of choke locks, throws and triangle holds. This was such an enjoyable training session and on behalf of all the students who attended I would like to says big thank you to Juan, Mike and Mikey for giving up their time to our course and show brief insight into another area of the martial arts.

Some photos from this year's Summer Course! Well done to everyone who passed their grading you all did really well! And looked forward to seeing you all at the normal karate club this Thursday as usual. A big thank you to Paul and Helen two of our seniour instructors who gave us some much appreciated advice. Just a reminder to everyone that the normal karate lessons will start from tomorrow evening and will be running every thursday night throughout this summer. :)

Had such a good first lesson at Mildenhall RAF Air Base teaching Mike and Mikey. Was so exciting to be able to see around the Air Base and we are very much looking forward to our future Monday lessons there! :D

Well done to everyone who came on the Summer Course this year, everyone successfully passed their grading! And a big thank you to Paul and Helen who came down as our senior instructors to help teach us all. :)
