With several heavy downpours over the past few days, not all will have run off the hard ground …and already there is a sheen of green re appearing. It’s not even an issue getting caught in it as it’s warm….

Tonight’s endeavours for badger defences. The 8th is a low lying vulnerable green so it gets extra treatment.

Now there’s an unexpected treat rather than anything to do with badgers …spotted two white blobs in a tree across the lake. One much larger than the other. Guessed the small one was the little egret but the large one…..turned out to be the now much more ‘common’ (unfortunate word for such a lovely sight) great white heron. Only the second one I’ve seen here. Drawn to the wetlands it seems…or lakes with muddy perimeters!

Day 3. What a day. A day of loveliness and the best of people. So many good wishes and reassurance that it’s still a lovely course inspite of all the challenges. Being stopped as you work to hear nice things is such a boost along with great ideas to keep the wildlife happy but elsewhere! Thanks everyone, you made my day. 🙏🏻 (I’m getting good with emoji’s too now).

Day 2. Operation Badger Deterrent. So the lights didn’t work on this green (1st) but did on yesterday’s victim…unless they’d already eaten everything of course. Nets it is then..which is a whole heap of unsociable hours pain as thy go out after play is over for the day and have to be brought in before play the next day:
