Fridays play had Eileen Parker in action in the senior singles at 930am v Humberside , she took to the green the way she left off on Thursday and dispatched her opponent 21-6 !

No rest for the wicked she then played the next round in the ladies' singles which she lost narrowly lost to her Cleveland opponent.

Eileen got herself ready for her third match of the day v Norfolk in the senior singles semi-final and won convincingly 21-4, which sets her up for the national ladies' senior singles final v J Baldwin of Huntingdonshire at 9.30am Saturday.

A number of our ladies have qualified to represent our North Essex Federation at the National Finals, being held at Lincoln Indoor bowls club over this coming week, 24th April to 30th April.

On Monday 24th all day, the Harry Carver Trophy will be played for, between the ladies county associations of which our own Jean Shaw is Ladies County President and Eileen Parker is immediate past President.
Play is between 10:30-17:30.

Tuesday at 09:30 the real action starts, when our ladies triple of Eileen Parker, Jean Shaw and Gillian Barnes take on Cleveland. A win will see them back playing in the next round v Northumberland at 3.30pm in the afternoon.

Our ladies pair of Eileen Parker and Jean Shaw are also playing their first game on Tuesday at 12.30 v Humberside.

Later in the week Eileen Parker is in the ladies senior singles v Suffolk, play starts at 9.30am on Thursday.

Then Eileen switches attention to her ladies singles match, in which she will play v Derbyshires qualifier on Thursday at 19.30pm.

Im sure if any travelling support goes up at any point in the week they will witness some terrific matches.

Good luck to our own three ladies pitting themselves against some of the countries best bowlers.

Mark Royal will be bringing his roadshow to the club tomorrow from 11am to 5pm, which lets be honest, will be far more exciting than the Radio 1 roadshow from the 80s/90s, as they didn’t sell bowls stuff.
This is the time to buy those accessories for the outdoor season, or even a new set of bowls. All you could possibly require will be on sale.

Hope to see you all down at the club.

28/03/2023

The indoor season is drawing to a conclusion and we are holding our finals weekend this Saturday and Sunday 1st and 2nd April. Sessions will run at 10am and 2pm both days.

Why not come along support your club and the finalists. Equally as importantly the bar facilities will be available on both days.
What more could you want, except maybe some sunshine, oh, and some warmth to go with said sunshine. Unfortunately we can’t guarantee that but we can guarantee some cracking bowls.

22/03/2023

The club is holding a social lunch afternoon event on Sunday 26th March 12.30 for 1pm, followed by games of carpet bowls and target bowls etc.

Hope everyone enjoys the day.
