Just a short update; We are in the process of refunding everyone who asked for one. This has proved to be not as straightforward as hoped. To cut a (very) long story short, in order to process the many refunds, we need to transfer funds over to Raceroster (the third party who handles the run registration). They will then issue all the refunds. This has proven to be more difficult than you’d think. Raceroster are based in Canada which makes the whole process more complicated. Rest assured we are trying to get this sorted out as soon as possible. This has proven to be a very time consuming process for the few volunteers still involved with the Alton Water Run. Hopefully everything will be sorted in the next few days. Apologies again for just how long this whole process has taken…

Just to confrim the cancellation of last year’s run and folding of the Alton Water Run Charity.

We are offering all registered runners a refund of their entrance fee, subject to an admin fee to cover the processing.

We are also giving everyone the option of donating their entrance fee to the charity, as originally intended.

If you are a registered runner, please login to your RaceRoster dashboard to register your preference. If we don’t hear from you by the end of September we will presume you are happy for your entrance fee to be donated to the charity. Refunds will be processed at the beginning of October.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Obviously the 2020 event was cancelled by the ongoing Covid pandemic and it has been difficult for the committee running the event to meet and decide how best to rearrange the event.

In the interim many committee members have left the charity and it has proved impossible to source replacements, and so we have made the regretful decision to cancel the postponed 2020 Alton Water Run and wind-up the charity, donating any remaining funds to the local schools.

We are offering all registered runners a refund of their entrance fee, subject to an admin fee to cover the processing.

We are also giving everyone the option of donating their entrance fee to the charity, as originally intended.

We are really sorry it has taken so long to get in touch regarding this matter, The Alton Water Run is run by volunteers and it has been very difficult for this decision to be made.
